Detach factory microphone from Dension GW52MO1 500S BT Bluetooth

Hello members,

I have the Dension GW52MO1 setup to play music from the iPhone in my Cayenne 957. The bluetooth music is working perfectly fine - just love it; except when I am making phone call through the bluetooth connection. The stock microphone is just unuseable - everyone complain I sound like talking to them under the water, I can hear them from the spreakers quite well though. For this reason, I will have to switch the phone call to either my iPhone speaker phone or via a different bluetooth headset which is quite painful when you are driving. I have tried changing the stock microphone to a different one, different locations for the microphone, and fine tune the audio etc but just made no different - I am still under the water... :-/

Now I am thinking (guessing only) if I unplug the stock microphone from the GW52MO1, would the microphone from the Gateway will be automatically selecting the iPhone's microphone as mic & continue to use the Gateway audio output as speaker through the vehicle stereo? Or by unpluging the microphone from the Gateway, would the bluetooth phone function be disabled? If so, I am ok with that. At least the iPhone can just be comfortably pick up the phone call itself as normal.

As my GW52MO1 Gateway main box is mounted underneath/hidden behind the glove box, I will have to pay the professional electrician to unplug the cable connection for me. For that reason, I would like to at least get some ideas or confirmation; hopefully some of us here has done that before as references. This way I can spend my money worthwhile for this job.

Many thanks,
Toby
