Bluetooth streaming?
Bluetooth streaming?
Hi guys
I don't have my car yet but when I test drove one the salesman said something about not being able to stream music (spotify) with this car. I think he said it has to be plugged into the glovebox? Isn't Bluetooth Bluetooth? Why doesn't this work?
Also if that's the case I'd like a recommendation for some sort of iPhone holder/clip that I can clip my iPhone into next to the glovebox.
Thanks guys!

I can stream Pandora and IHeartRadio from my smartphone through the Bluetooth Audio, so I'd imagine that you can also stream Spotify?
One thing that annoys me is that the Bluetooth Audio doesn't always connect to my smartphone when I start the car, even though the Bluetooth does. So I'll have to turn off and re-start the car so that the Bluetooth Audio will connect.

I've found that for some reason streaming from an aux bluetooth source is not possible if an iPod is connected to the glovebox USB interface. In order to stream Pandora from my phone, I need to first disconnect the iPod.
I have my iPod connected by USB and stream SiriusXM from my smartphone via Bluetooth. Works great. Regarding audio quality: each audio source has separate audio settings in PCM (tone, surround, etc). I thought the Bluetooth sounded awful until I changed these settings.
I stream Pandora through Bluetooth Aux. Audio quality is good for me. No issues. You don't have to use the aux in the glovebox.

For iphone clip, someone else recommended this in one of the earlier threads. I got it. It's alright for the most part. I had it fall off once, not sure if it was user error or not.

If you just play off of USB keep it smaller otherwise you have to wait for it to search and index every time..
It's a bit clumsy copying with the PCM.. But it works nicely once in jukebox..
To bad Porsche doesn't document very well the capabilities.. But once you figure it out its good..
Don't waste my time with pandora or spotify as the audio quality is crap..
If only we could get it to stream the waze warnings while listening to a different input just like the navigation audio over the radio... That would be cool.
I use Spotify all the time on the iPhone 5. You can't control the menus, but rather just forward/reverse functions. It actually only works with Bluetooth. When plugged in, it competes with iTunes and cannot be played.
Make sure you have "Prefer Bluetooth" checked in settings. Amazing how powerful it is when the driving community bands together to report the traps in real time.
