CTT Power Potential
CTT Power Potential
All, I have been reading thread after thread regarding performance of the CTT. All that reading and I am still left wondering; how much power is possible in the CTT and how?
I am in the market for something to replace my S and I test drove a CTT and was amazed. Unfortunately Im a mod-aholic so I look at modding potential BEFORE buying the car
Looking forward to any answers you can provide.

This seems to be the place for those who shun "Mod-aholics Anonymous."
The mantra here appears to be "how can I achieve the twelve steps to making my ride scream?"
1. At least 20" rims
2. BMC or K&N performance air filters, or better yet Evo's new V-Flow Air intakes.
3. OEM chrome tail pipes or Aftermarket polished SS pipes.
4. Fabspeeds or Miltek's cat bypass pipes.
5. Fabspeed's or Milteks cat back rear sport muffler.
6. Evolution's diverter valves.
7. GIAC or Revo computer tuning.
8. Electronic lowering module.
9. Evo GT 650 Garrett turbo Chargers.
10. Turbo S upgraded Brakes.
11. Body Kit By Techart or Gemballa
12. Of course you will then need to have a K-40 Calibre radar detector and Laser Defuser installed to "protect yourself" at high speeds!
There are certainly many, many, many variations to these twelve steps and I woould love if others added their own versions too.

We take an OEM Cayenne turbocharger and machine it to accept a more advanced and more efficient Garrett unit for better turbo response and higher HP/TQ. The OEM turbochargers are good for about 530-550 HP where our custom turbochargers will have better turbo response and generate power up to 650HP.

So is 650 the ceiling for power on these cars without radical modifications?
Also, how does the bottom end handle that level of power?
Who has the fastest CTT here?
Thanks.

I hate bumping my own threads but I'd really love to hear the answers to the below questions.

The truth is most of us Cayenne owners have yet to extract the full power potential of the CT. For a fact we know it can easily go to 520HP as proven on the Cayenne Turbo S. I would just say it is almost safe to assume 600HP should be reliably attained. Also most Cayenne Turbo owners are satisfied with the power levels, it is not a drag car so I don't see much reason that a lot of CT owners will mod the CT to the extreme. That can be reserved for modding the 911 or some other sports car.
Thanks for your reply but unfortunately I have a horrible mod bug - It makes me shop for something reasonable at first but once I buy it, my first thought is how insane I can get with modding.

I don't think we can judge who has the fastest since most of us have done only basic bolt-ons. If your looking at modding SUV for high performance you need to go get a Jeep SRT-8. They have a lot of potential and its a lot cheaper to mess with.
At 650hp the gearbox is past its limet.Gemballa had many failures with the stock gearbox. We only go to 630hp with the stock box.If you are going over 630hp the clutch plates need to be upgraded.
