Question How much kick should you expect from air-intake and ECU?

My Tech.advisor from Porsche dealer told me 'Don't do it'.
He said "one of the customer done ecu, air-intake, full exhast, had less HP than stock". I was like what??? Unless they installed wrong.
I wish I can smack him up and down as soon as he spit out those comments...
However, dealer people doesn't like those mod I guess.

Well, what is real numbers by having ECU and air-intake(EVOMS V-Flow) on 'S'?
If it was for 'tt' I'm sure you feel it right away but is money really worth it for 'S'?

Can someone help from EVOMS? or someone?

Thanks

Eric

I am thinking approx. 100 BHP with the breakdown being 30 from the intake and 70 from the remapped ECU. You would be well advised to "open up" the exhaust as well. What goes in must come out.........

Tell your dealer to eat ****.

I'm sorry I misread the original inquiry. I mistakenly thought he was asking about a Turbo. I know nothing about the S.

Kick for Cayenne

Anything yet for a Cayenne Turbo S? If so, what increase can be expected?

Wasn't Fabspeed's cat bypass give you appx. 10-15hp for 'S'?
Plus, how about exhaust from Cargraphic? Maybe 5-10hp for 'S'?
Now, on top of that ECU + air-intake gives you around 15-20hp for 'S'?
So, as little as 30hp to 45hp gain on 'S'?

Meanmachine, do you feel the kick after you mod your 'S'?
so far I just enjoy what I hear from mine.
I only done to cat bypass pipe and exhaust.
Do you notice any more by having air-intake and ECU?

Eric

unfortunetly when modding hp does not add up like that. If its 10hp for exhaust at 10 for ECU you will probably not be able to add them up and get 20hp. Combining them you will probably be somewhere below that number. 45hp is too high for those mods. I would say you would gain 25-30hp MAX with those mods on an NA car. It will be enough to feel the difference and you will probably get better throttle response(which the cayennes really need). Sounds like you have an awesome car. Enjoy in good health bro

I agree with Boyracer. You definitely should feel the increase though.

BOYRACER:
I've been following your posts since you bought the GT3. We have very similar cars. Keep up the good work. I've had mine for 6 months and it just keeps getting better. Regearing next week if the rest of the parts come in.
Best wishes!

Hey Doc,
We obviously have good taste then I think the Gt3s are pretty much the most exciting vehicles out there. They are just so much fun to drive and for what you get it's a bargain. I can not think of anything other than some of the open wheel cars i drove that are more fun. Let me know how the regear goes. I would love to do it but I would be bumped out of my race classes for the car. Best wishes to you too....

Thanks for giving me good direction and infos.
I'll keep that in mind and also you have very nice set up.
Enjoy your car...

I'm not trying to get a monster kick out of what I have...I'm trying to go with more of car sound and appreances(=image) as daily drive.
If I really wanted a faster car than I would gone for 997's or 955tt but this is my grocery and daily drive car and surprised many grocery moms and dads in our neighbors .

Sometimes you spend more than you supposed to and as long as you satisfy with what you have than it's all good. I'm trying to be reasonable with what I spend and what I get out of as a car lover(specialy Porsche)

However, my plan had been delayed because I'm thinking about what is really worth for the money.
ECU and air-intake? or TT conversion?

Eric

Cayenne Turbo S with Tubis puts out around 540hp...theres another 70 hp to be had with ECU flash/reprogram. This is due to the larger capacity turbo chargers in the CTTS. So far I've done the Tubis on mine and can already feel a difference in the boost at medium throttle...at full throttle its big grin time!

The Cayenne Turbo S does not have larger turbo chargers, it has larger intercoolers, bigger brakes, different ecu, revised steering and suspencion parts. Who told you that the CTS had larger Turbos?

You're right...In the turbo S they spin faster (revised boost etc)and larger intercoolers.
