Steering Wheel

I'm thinking about a dark wood Tequipment steering wheel. What do you guys have, and how do you like them? My wife thinks the wood is too Volvo.

I've got a dark wood steering wheel on mine (to match to rest of the dark wood trim). It think it looks great and adds a more "upscale" feeling to the car. That said, you do lose the heating element, and furthermore hanging onto the wheel during cornering is harder than with a leather steering wheel (your hands just don't grip as well on the wood).

I wish that the wood part started higher up on the wheel so that you could have leather on the part of the part of the wheel that you most commonly grip (similar to a wood or CF 911 steering wheel). Like I said, I really like the look, but I'm not sure if I'd recommend it to others given its practical limitations.

As in my whipped case!
I got the thicker padded leather requipment wheel that was still heated.

The only Carbon Fiber wheel (with the option of heated) is made by Techart if I am not mistaken.

Steering Wheel

I brought my Audi to the shop to get 2 scratches repaired and had to borrow a car from my brother- his 2006 SL 500.
The car is fast, it handles well (AMG handling package) but it's very uncomfortable.
The steering wheel inside his SL is wood and leather, and I am happy to say, that I don't like it. It's not as comfortable, and you cannot get that same great grip you get with the leather.
Thanks for all your advice and input.
