Anyone know how to change the fog lights?
Anyone know how to change the fog lights?
Hey guys,
I bought a pair of amber lights for the fog lights but I have no clue how to get to the fog lights. It looks like a major PITA. Would someone please put my worries to sleep and tell me their is an easy way to replace the fog light bulbs!
TIA,
Rob

"If you look under the front where the fog light is, you'll see the thick torson bar that goes across from one side of the wheels to the other. Right in front of the torson bar is a squarish plastic molding. It is held on by philips head screws. It is the only piece under the car in this area that has Phillips head screws. There are five screws total...three underneath and two more in the fender well. Remove these five screws and then the molding. This will give you full access to change your fogs as well as side markers. Turn the fog light counter clockwise (looking from the back of the lights) to loosen.
Makes sense they designed it like this to make quick change of bulbs easily accessible. It takes only minutes to remove these screws. I did it with my steering wheel straight. There is room in the fender well for a short Phillips. You can always turn the wheels for better access."
Hope this helps

So Koooser is correct. I was able to easily access the fog light as per his specifications. the only problem I had is I ordered the wrong frigin lights! I ordered the H2 like the 996 fog lights but the Cayenne takes the H11. So I'll post some before and after pics for you guys when they send me the "right" bulbs.
Thanks for all the help.

Thanks for all the help.

Oweyea,
Try these Hoen ones (pull down to the bottom of this page for the Porsche Cayenne Section) http://www.hoen-usa.com/guide2.htm
Pretty close matchup with the factory HID/Xenon headlights - they are H11s
BTW, how pissed were YOU when you found out you had the wrong bulbs. I can't STAND it when that sh*t happens!

Nothing worse than having all the parts off the car, trying to get something to fit and it doesnt! Been there with coil overs on my old BMW...not fun...but only myself to blame for not checking the box!

I did order the cornering light bulbs too - but beware - they did not have the exact prong configuration even though Hoen's website claims they are the correct bulb for that application.
If you find something that works let me know because i don't particularly care for the color (spectrum) of the cornering lights and how they look bland next to the xenons and Hoen fogs.
Thanks
