Hello, these switches are not power switches any more, they only vary their resistance and the Rear control module interperets these signals and performs the requested action, same with windows, hatch, etc... I have seen several problems with the driver's door control module not sending the proper signal to the Rear control module and causing this problem. I suggest taking your vehicle to the dealer and having them look at it. Good luck!

There are several possible things to look at with this problem, depending on the actual problem. Do the rear hatch and the gas door not open with the switches on the driver's door? If so, it may be either the switch assembly, the driver's door module, the rear control module or even the CAN lines between all these modules.

There is no "front" control module in a Cayenne, maybe they meant the front door module. If this is the case, it is not just a simple replacement issue, there are certain things that have to be transfered from the old module such as coding, this is done with the PIWIS tester, no other way to do it. After the new module is installed and coded properly, you must perform a "basic door coding" and then lastly in the instrument main menu, you must reset the door settings or else the rear hatch will work opposite (don't ask how I know this)

Unfortunately, unless you have the luxury of a personal PIWIS tester, there is no way a do-it-yourself guy can perform this repair, not even a trusted independant tech has the ability. These cars are getting so complex that if the person repairing it is factory trained, there is almost no hope of a fix.

Isn't this encouraging?!

I can hardly wait to find out how much this is going to cost.
