Hi everyone, I have just purchased a cayenne S... I am looking into modifying it.... My first step is lowering the car, my choices so far are Cargraphic which lowers the car by 40mm and Techart which lowers the car by 30mm.... what do you guys recommend.. I know techart has a very good reputation however i dont know whether cargraphic has a good reputation...

Congrats on your new purchase.. I would say go for the 40MM the steel suspension sits pretty high so the lower the better.. As far as quality, they both make good stuff.. as well as H&R..

Both TechArt and Cargraphic make high quality products. TechArt is more Porsche specific but Cargraphic makes items for numerous brands. We have done some TechArt lowering kits in the shop and have been pleased with the results. Drops thr car to a more suitable level for a Porsche.

 

One of the unique feature of the Pepper is the fact that it handles better than a Range Rove (a true offroader), and at the same time handles 90% like your 911. By lowering its' suspension you are in fact hindering its' offroad capability. Hence, I would strongly advise against any attemp to lower the suspension setting.

P.S. This is just my opinion. Yet, if you are buying the Pepper for what it is worth, pleased don't do it. Should you have PASM-Air Suspension, try to use the loading level function when you enter or exit. Alternatively, consider installing a running board.

 

I just had my Cayenne S lowered with the Techart spring. The techart website says that it lowers it by 30mm but I got it lowered slightly more, its between 30mm-40mm. It handles much better, I get a much smoother ride.

I will get some pictures asap, its snowing here, and my car is dirty, once I wash it, I will get some photos taken and post them here.

20C4S(Arling) gave me a good deal on the Techart spring, you may want to get it from him. I agree with TCM, Techart is more specifically for Porsche compared to Cargraphic and H&R. But if I have to choose between Cargraphic and H&R, I will definitely go for Cargraphic.

 

I am very interested in the lower springs, but was wondering about installation. I live in Ohio and was wondering if anyone has had springs installed close to there or are people trusting dealers to do it?

where do u take ur baby offroading?

 

A friend of mine did it and I'm located in Boston, we did not have much problem with it, the first one was hard and took a longer time though. Why don't you try to find a shop who will do it for you instead of the dealer? Because the dealer charges so much more!!

 

Its a hard choice I think to compare the too..... I say go with what you feel more comfortable with

I have heard that cargraphic springs are made by H&R.

 

I got my H&R's from Gembella. (You can get it for much cheaper price from Tirerack.com).

The ride is suprisingly more comfortable than the OEM springs. If I had one "do-over", I would definitely get the air suspension option....
