why would a CTT owner...

fake his ride as a CTTS?

Today in the drive-thru I see a CTTS in front of me in line. I'm checking out his ride for a while and notice:

1) the "S" in Cayenne Turbo S is off to the right, Cayenne Turbo is centered under the wiper hub, yup but the S is about 2" to the right of "Turbo"...

He's got a trailer hitch, black pkg, rear camera, sports tailpipes, etc, etc...
then I notice his lower rear valance is "matte black".

I couldn't see the front of the truck so I don't know if it had a turbo front bumper or red calibers... so I'm not sure if it WAS a CTT, CTTS or a CS.

Judging by the options, and I saw alacantra headliner too... I'm pretty sure it was a CTT, probably an 04 with the matte black valance.

So the question is,

Why would a guy "stick" an "S" onto his nice CTT? Who's he trying to fool? Isn't it enough that he bought a $100K truck? Wants his neighbors to think it's $130K? Ex wife?

I actually have more "understanding" of the guy who buys a V6, puts on a new front clip, rear valance, sport pipes and paints the calibers red with CTT logo on the back... creates $100K look at $55k.

You'd think that anyone who would know how much a CTTS "costs" would also notice the "S" hanging 2" off center??

Any psychologists here?

hahah. yeah i don't understand that either. but it could be a honest mistake. For example, i saw a 2004 CTT for sale on ebay that has the badge on, so if someone ended up buying it, usually people who can afford these cars used even have some access to $$. So perhpas the guy who bought the car from the dealer was driving around. The psychology is very simple. One wants more credit than then deserve. Some people like to show how much money they have sometimes flaunting it, sometimes other ways. I have found people around me to operate at the IQ level of an retard, so nothing surprises me anymore and it shouldn't surprise you either. :-)
my fidy cents...

When I was in the market for a CTT, I went to look at a used 2004 CTT at a high-end used car dealer. This Pepper was an early 2004, normal headliner, 19" wheels, no extra options, yet, it had the "S" on the back. It too was noticeably in the wrong spot. I asked the salesman about it and he said, "It's a real Turbo S!" When I told him they didn't offer the Turbo S until model year 2006, he said he'd have to check with his boss about that...

Same thing happens with people who have a regular Benz or Bimmer and they put AMG or M emblems on the trunk. It seems they try to impress those who don't know the difference, but look like idiots to those who do.

it all happens for the same reason, that some BMW owners put M3 everything on their cars when they have a 325.
I remember seeing an e46 325 or whatever it was with front fenders, wheels, front bumper, but then, stock exhaust etc etc etc....and im sitting right next to him on my M3 thinking what a ******...

It just happens that: "THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER ON THE THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FENCE!"

I don't get it either. I once saw a guy in Aventura that had a E class, with AMG badging, stock wheels, and the quad exhaust pipes. The strange part was that the quad tips were just hanging off the bumper, nothing was attached to them. Also in my office there is an "E55" Except it has the Exhaust tips from the E500 and doesn't say AMG anywhere on the dash or seats. I see such things all the time, and it really bugs me!

I see tons of guys with their BMWs that have M badges. The thing that annoys me the most is when 996s have GT3 or TURBO badges on them when they arent.

I am thinking of putting the "S" emblem on because I heard it yields close to 20HP @ the wheels.

My wife has a Bimmer 330 vert. and it does have the M suspension, M wheels, M steering wheel, M side skirts and front valence....HOWEVER these are all from the factory as a package - the 330 ZHP performance package. We would never try and be posers and slap a bunch of extra "M"esque stuff and false badging.

I do love to see many different falsely badged cars - they always put a grin on my face
