Interesting idea... Unfortunately, space is really the problem, this limits me to an SUV (which I consider the CTT the best, no question) or some sort of sports wagon which as far as I can tell choices are just E63 or CTS-V. CTS-V seats (both stock and recaros) are not comfortable for me and not enough leg room for the back seats.

I think there are 300C in SRT-8 form with a station wagon, right? Really a set of qualities you cannot find in a large amount of cars. Space, sports performance, comfortability all add up. What about an Audi Avant or BMW Touring models?

A used dodge magnum srt8 wagon? Not my cup-of-tea for handling. Audi and BMW now only offer wagons with base engines in the US. No high performance models. I'm really convinced that the E63 wagon is the best wagon out there for me and the CTT is the best SUV out there for me. Both meet the fun to drive and space requirement. It comes down to ride quality vs height/visibility. My impression is that the wagon was significantly better in ride quality but I am hoping to get ride quality input from folks that have more "wheel time" then me.

R63 AMG - 5.0 secs

2008 Cayenne Turbo - 5.1 secs
2008 Cayenne Turbo S - 4.7 secs
2011 Cayenne Turbo - 4.7 secs

These numbers seem off. Using my VBOX, I was getting 4.5sec to 60mph in my CTT with just flooring it from the light, there was no brake boosting or any other launch tactics. I am sure I could get closer to 4.0, the 2010 CTTS got 4.1 sec when compared to the X5M in one of the mags.
The mods I have dont really improve 0-60mph as much as 60-130.

I am looking for a better jekyll and hyde DD car. The family has had it with the ride quality of my jeep SRT8 (not that I blame them). They would love me to get a base E350, for example, for ride quality, but that sort of car, for me, is just too boring to drive. Panamera might be a good compromise, but it doesn't have enough room. So narrowed down to E63 wagon vs CTT. All things being equal, I would rather be up high in the CTT for visibility, but it's still fighting the physics of high center of gravity vs ride quality.
If felt that the amg did not ride any smoother then my CTT, on the other hand my e350 bluetec does ride smoother then both the amg and CTT.
In terms of jekyll and hyde DD car, I felt that the amg required significant pedal pressure to keep the fun factor up, where the CTT only requires less then 1/2 throttle to give you a wide grin; or just feather the pedal and you are keeping up with traffic effortlessly and getting good MPG at the same time. The amg felt a lot bigger and harder to maneuver in tight parking lots because the visibility was a big factor as you mentioned.
MPG will also be a significant advantage to the CTT. Rear seat leg room is a lot better in the CTT because the rear bench slides back and forth and you can also recline the back. Overall the feeling to me is there is a clear reason why the CTT costs 30k more then a amg when both are new.

You would be happy with either but if both are the same cost used, then as everyone else on the thread has mentioned, there is a clear winner...
CTT.
