What % off of MSRP for a 2011 Cayenne S?

I've never purchased a Porsche before and my father is strongly considering purchasing a CS very soon. How much % off the MSRP should I try to take off to get a good deal?

Thanks and happy thanksgiving.

Normally I would say 3-5 % is not out of the question, however with allocations very limited right now most dealers are not discounting much at all as they are having a hard time getting product. I have heard rumors that allocations may increase in the Spring.

My dealer only has 2 S and about 4 turbos in stock now. That is down from about 6 each of V6, S, and turbos. I think discounts are probably shrinking as they try to get all they can on limited stock.

Almost no discount... demand is so high right now.

Welcome to 6speed. The 2011 Cayenne is a great choice. However now is not the best time to custom order a Cayenne if you want the "best discount". Most of us got anywhere from 4 to 6% off a month ago even on a custom order and some got 8% off the lot. Now with no build allocation slots (or very few), dealers are not giving anymore than 1% off (a little more for a repeat customer). Nobody knows how things will shake up come spring but my guess is that there will be more inventory and dealers will be discounting them again. If you are buying now then I would suggest getting it off the lot (if you can find something that you like with the options that your dad would want) and increase your search radius to a couple of hundred miles and call around for the best discount. I would suggest that your father spend some time on the Porsche USA site and play with the build your Porsche configurator to see which options would interest him. If you get 5% or more then pull the trigger. But if it is any less than that, just wait till spring.

Thanks for the feed back guys.

I've done a few build ups of the S since last night. However, I have a silly question..why is it called "partial leather seats"? Is it because the seats are made partially out of leather or a blend of synthetic leather? and what is the partial leather seat and leather interior? because it doesn't specify what parts of the interior, besides the seats, are actually leather.

Thanks again everyone.

I posted the exact thread 2 months ago and the best I found was 6.5% off msrp but am not sure if they will still honor that anymore due to the higher demand and less allocations available.

'Partial leather' is generally the parts that you sit on, or the 'seating surfaces' are leather. The areas that your body sits on, not the lower side or upper sid or back area. That is the way most leather interiors are as opposed to full leather, which is the entire seat made of leather. The 2011 Cayenne, it is hard to tell from the look or feel which parts of the seat are not leather, the other material is so good. I think these seats are far better than the material used in earlier models, just my opinion.

Thanks for the explanation ScottAtlGa. I thought that's what it meant, but was curious as to why Porsche would go about labeling it like that.

Anyways, I have my build up and haven't found a dealership in NY, NJ, or PA with build I want for my dad. Searching dealerships in CT now....

I guess with the legal environment being what it is, they have to be very descriptive. I suspect it will be very hard to find one in stock with exact options you want. I had to compromise and took one I liked but it lacked NAV, which was ok since I use NAV on my iphone, but would have preferred to have it since Porsche NAV is so good. Alot of the great options guys here like sound great but in my experience, I end up not using many of the options I get. I DO like the Sat. radio, bluetooth, heated/cooled seats. My lane change assist is on the blink waiting on a part right now, but I found it sure helped on the highway.

Maybe I should skip the PTV and the PDDC? My dad is 56 years old and he wont be hitting the corners hard or drive in a spirited manner at all. But I sure will

Personally I'd skip those, but many others here will disagree. I am not so into it that spending that much on optional brakes for an SUV excites me. It may not matter to him, but all these high dollar options add virtually nothing to the resale value but sure help the used car manager sell the vehicle for more. Mine listed for about $78k and only popular option most would think is missing is NAV. The sky is the spending limit for options on these vehicles, a great way for Porsche to drive the margins through the roof!

Above is my initial build, but shouldn't the 18 way seat upgrade be only $500 dollars since the 14 way seats are already included in the premium package plus and they cost only 1315? but instead i was charged the full about of the seats on the quote.....

Alright, I went to the dealership and got my first quote.

MSRP of $80,620
My cost will be $76,000. I think it's an ok deal. It comes with 19s($1950) and color wheel hub crest ($180) that we do not want. I'd rather have the 18's cuz they don't cost nething extra and the other wheels aren't worth the money since I think they don't good at all.

So, I'm trying to have the dealership deduct the cost of the wheels and the hub caps and just put on starndard 18's. But they won't do that.

However, They are oferring about $13,000 for a 2004 BMW 530i with 65k miles. That was the most shocking....I know it's a trade in, but it is just way too low.

So, guys how is the price for the car? Good? great? let me know...thanks.

I don't think you are getting beat too bad on the trade-in. It's a little below auction numbers but that is probably how they will unload the trade, wholesale it to a broker and then they will auction it or try to get auction wholesale value for it. I'm going to send the auction numbers to you in a PM - don't want to get in trouble pasting them here....Personally, I'd stay with 19's. It only makes a slight difference and neither wheel is exciting but the 18's start to look pretty small compared to what is on most of these vehicles. Considering how hot these vehicles are right now and shortage of inventory, I don;t think that is too bad for what you want.
