2011 Cayenne S ordered
2011 Cayenne S ordered
Hi everybody, this is my first post here but I've been reading these forums a lot to research nearly every option before ordering my new 2011 Cayenne S. I'm set for a March build and April delivery.
Cayenne S Tiptronic (400hp V8, 8 speed transmission)
The finished result should look something like the attached images. I got a discount from the dealer of about 6%, putting the total at about $100.5k.
This is replacing my 10 year old LR Discovery, and I'm hoping that this will be capable enough to actually go off-roading a few times per year (with a set of 18" wheels and off-road tires). Otherwise it will be daily driver and tow vehicle.
Thanks for everyone's information on these forums to help me through this process.

did you see a real version of the Auburn colour?
i saw one late in the fall and much more copper colour than the digital on the web. i really liked it - thinking of special ordering the colour on a 911.

Congratulations. I am new to the Cayenne world but think that I know enough to boldly comment that you have a great build. I would encourage you to check my recent thread on the 2011 Cayenne. I did order several of the options that you have going on yours. Just ensure that you have actually seen and driven a Cayenne with the heated windshield in the day and night.
I actually did see an auburn one in person at the dealer, I was surprised that they had one as a dealer demo.
@w00tPORSCHE - Thanks! I've had a heated windshield in my Discovery for 10 years, I wouldn't live without one at this point. I was glad to add a heated steering wheel though. Do you have the Cayenne yet or is it still on order? If you have it what do you think about that interior combo?

I hope that you are kiddin ... Or are you really serious ??

cecil_t - great build! Curious though... Why didn't u add the Prem+ package? Seems like u have added some of the Prem+ options individually, the package will give you some extras at a good value. Just a thought. Nice work on the discount, congrats! It's going to be a great ride.

@w00tPORSCHE - sorry, found your thread, keep it up
I've been busy and haven't been here in a while. I think within the next month your brain will "filter out" the heated windshield. Here in PA it's hugely convenient, especially right now as I look out at the snow/sleet/freezing rain that we've had the past two weeks. In my LR I saw it for about a week, now I have to look for it.
@slw23 - I looked at the premium and premium plus packages, and while they are good value there are options that I specifically DIDN'T want to have. E.g. I really don't like the park-assist stuff because of the extra 4 "holes" it puts in each bumper, that ruins the looks for me. I would have loved to have the camera for hooking up a trailer without the park-assist, but that combination is no longer possible.

I am led to believe that the design of the HW on the LR are "better" than the Cayennes although I have never ever seen a LR HW. I am hoping that my brain would filter out the HW. Looks like many here have no problems with it.
Rover has to get somethings right
The park assist "holes" are barely noticeable to me
As well as being very handy for backing up into my garage or a parking space(which is how i park 95% of the time)
I am so used to it,that I am always extra careful when parking a car that does not have them
The camera is like a side view mirror : some objects maybe closer than they appear
