EVOMS is the only one I would consider for this car. Also it is a piggyback system so can be plugged in and unplugged just as easy. Not to mention its a more aggressive tune then the others (I cant back that up, it is what many have said to me). Also add on a bypass pipe to add sound and another 20-30 HP to the 80 hp the tune will give you. Let them know you are a 6speed member and they should give a discount.

What are the pros and cons of having a piggy back system though? Does anyone have this tune and experience any lag/down-side compare with remapping the factory ECU?

So far absolutley no cons for me. Some may want the programmable tune so that they can specify their tune to their other mods. But for mine I only have the bypass pipes and the tune learns and adapts to it, also if I put in 100octane gas it adjusts to it.

Thank you for your comments. Do you see a drop in fuel efficiency?

Not at all from the tune, but indirectly due to me driving it harder with all the extra power.

who did you go through for this EVOS ecu tune?
i am contemplating this same exact tune. What is the process? remove ECU and ship to them or you just add on the parts they send to you?
Is this a tune you did yourself or dealership?
Cost?

you can PM if you'd prefer.
what discount for 6speed member?

You do not remove your ecu, you just plug in the piggyback system under your hood in three different places. I took it to my local mod shop and we did it together in about 10 minutes, mostly for reading the directions. Read them very carefully to prevent any CEL. I cant recall who I got it through, I think it was Alex at Sharkwerks. And the cost is around 3 or 3.2k, and the discount was about 500 off.
Hope this helps.

My Porsche dealer did mine. It was supposed to be done before I took delivery but didn't arrive in time. The secondary cat bypass pipes were installed before delivery but I had to return a few days later for the EVOMs to be installed. My dealer is extremely mod friendly. Their service manager is the one who recommended I do this. They had done a few others and the people were very happy with it. They gave me a small discount but they always do on everything since I've purchased over 20 Porsches from them since my first in 1979. I highly recommend this mod to anybody considering it. I can't speak to FVD, Softronic or others. I would have done GIAC if available only because of prior experience with them in my '08 997TT. (gone) That being said, I'm VERY happy with the Evoms.
