Just got my 2012, but I have a BIG issue!

Hi everyone, I just got my 2012 Cayenne S a few week ago and I have been pulled over twice because my state requires a front license plate. Guess who doesn't have one mounted... me.

I am so confused because there is NOWHERE to mount a front License Plate, I don't want to drill holes, well.. I pretty much refuse too and I really dislike the off center look of the tow-hook? ( i think that is what they use ) method. Is there any other way I can mount my license plate without damaging my truck where its the typical center aligned plate? Thanks in advance for the replies!!!

Oh by the way, Porsche didn't give me a front License Plate bracket when I purchased my car, isn't that funny? Shouldn't they have?

Congratulation on your new ride.
If your State require front license plate, your dealer suppose to provide the mounting bracket.
I would contact your dealer and request for the bracket.
NY required front plate, and I didn't like the tow hook license plate bracket. After getting pull off by NYPD, I end up drilling 2 holes and mount the license plate bracket.

Use 3M outdoor double sided tape. It will stick very well and will not fall off. Manually removing will take 10min to peel it off.
Will not damage paint.
Have this on my c4s for 2yrs...no problems at all

Also, we have so many road checks for drinking where I live. If I didn't have a front plate I'd have a ticket every4-6 weeks just going thru road checks! Not worth the trouble for where I live to go without a plate

i have a quick solution for your residual removal. Should not take 10 minutes.
What you do is get 3m Paint Protection Film installed in the area where you will get mount or tape the license. When you want to remove just pull off the film and you will be done. Simple.

Will the paint protection film be hard to remove and leave adhesive residuals?

depends on how you install it. If you use just water 90%, 10% (70% iso-prop alcohol) and few drops of baby soap. Removing it is extremely simple. If you have additional question, i can make a video and email it to you.

Lemmme know. Simple solution.

After 6 months and MANY $75.00 each parking tickets when I park in the city, I decided to just screw into the bumper. It doesn't look THAT bad, although I hated doing it.
In the end, I don't mind the look with, and when I sell, the holes go with it, so I don't care.

Good luck deciding....

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll be sure to pick some up if (when) I get my next fix-it ticket.

I bought the 3M outdoor tape, but it doesn't seem to adhere very well to the polypropylene that the bracket is made of. Comments, please?

Have you tried double sided tape to the front bumper and directly to the plate (without the plate bracket)?
