Angry 2011-2012 V6 engine vibration issue

My Cayenne is 2012 V6, purchased couple of months ago. I feel the engine vibration through floor and steering wheel at around 2,000 rpm. It's very annoying... It was much worse when I first got the car, it got better after a month or so, but it is still there.

I tried to go to an outlet store at Riverhead 75 miles away from home yesterday, then ended up going to Roosevelt field mall, only about 25 miles from home... because I could not stand the vibration on the highway!!!! Yes, on the highway, it's much more annoying!

Does any other V6 owners have similar issue? I am wondering if this is part of normal operation of the engine from VW or mine needs some particular attention by the dealer.

That sounds unusual. There is a slight loss of smoothness at around 3000 rpm with my V6. That is characteristic of the engine. It is barely detectible and isn't annoying at all.

Mine is perfect, no vibrations to speak of at any speed or any rpm.

I noticed mine has gotten better since we picked it up this past Wednesday, after about 300 miles. I suspect it's normal engine wear in...

I took my truck to the dealership service, and I believe the vibration issue has been fixed.

I drove highway at high speeds this weekend, and I could not notice any of annoying vibration at any speeds.

When I contacted the dealership, the service manager seemed to know about the issue, but when I was checking it out, they denied having done anything to my Cayenne.

However, after the visit, the vibration is gone, almost completely. The engine is silky smooth too, it's such a delight to drive now!!!

You know. That's the dumbest thing I've heard from Porsche. When they gave it back to you, they said, everything is ok and when you drove it, no vibrations? It sounds like they know about something, but aren't telling. They really should tell owners of the issue. Maybe others can tell their dealers to call yours to see what the real issue is.

We have just over 1k miles and while better, I still notice the vibration as well. Best way to describe is when the tranny is in 8th gear and engine at 2k rpm, trying to accelerate will result in noticeable vibration all around the floor. More like rough engine.

If they really were able to completely fix this, I'd be very curious on what they did. I was under the impression it's just the v6 lugging at too high of gear.

Haven't brought ours to dealer yet, but if there really is a cure I am going to bring it in.

Do bring it in if your truck got vibration issue. Today, I drove my Cayenne for about 30 minutes, mostly on highway, and it's really gone, although not 100%, more like 95% gone....

The engine also got much smoother too. It's a real joy to drive now.

I thought Porsche was playing the old Rolls Royce book as shown below:

A London plutocrat was driving his fine new Rolls-Royce over the Alps when he heard a disquieting "twang." His front spring had broken.

He called the Rolls plant in London by long distance, and, in what seemed like no time flat, three gentlemen arrived by plane with a new spring and off went the plutocrat on his interrupted jaunt.

Now comes the really interesting part of the story. After six months the plutocrat had received no bill from the Rolls people. Finally he appeared at the plant in person and asked that the records be checked for "the repair of a broken spring in Switzerland." After a brief delay the manager of the plant appeared in person, gazed at him rather reproachfully, and announced, "There must be some mistake, sir. There is no such thing as a broken spring on a Rolls-Royce."
