Today for the 3rd time in 6 months the radio had a static in the background of all the audio being played (sat, FM, CD, ipod) After shutting off the vehicle for several minutes it went away but I'm curious if anyone has experienced anything similiar or has an idea to what might be causing this. I would bring it to the dealer but there's almost no chance they can re-create it since it happens so infrequently.

 

I was thinking the same thing today. I knew all the radio stations were not bad.

 

This may not sound too far fetched, but perhaps all that Solar Flare activity :-)

I can vouch for it also.... happened to me once... before the solar flare incident (lol)... please keep us updated....

 

waiting to see if it happens again, im going to try and drive to the dealer immediately and see if they can figure it out.

 

It happened to me coincidentally near the time of the solar flare. My XM and FM radio stations sounded muted and static-like. CD's, however, sounded totally normal. I called my dealership and they chalked it up to the solar flare.

 

There have been many solar flare incidents throughout these couple years; only the recent ones are catching mainstream attention.

 

I thought it was just me, but i heard it today, and sometimes my Bose sounds very scratchy, almost thought it was a blown tweater.

 

It has happened to me twice but only when I tried to make a phone call over bluetooth. It went away, both times, after I turned the car off and restarted it!
