what were you charged for:

Lets compare notes on dealer charges for basic services.

Lets start with the first scheduled service, the 10K service, more realistically known as an oil change.
I was just quoted $290. What did you pay or were you quoted?

I have also use a very fine, high end independent German Car shop for maintenance and non-warranty work for many years - and his quote was $110, he also rotates tires and tops off fluids and does a full inspection. I'm not a price shopper and feel a bit compelled to go to the dealer now and then for general services during the warranty period just to catch any software updates and campaigns.

So what have you seen?

nothing that a good German car independent won't do just as well for about $500.

Newport Porsche is the last place I'd bring my car to.

Try Hergesheimer, GMG, or if you must go to a dealer, Walters.

being a first porsche and all, i thought it was worth it.

at the time, i thought it's better than going through all the hassles if something doesn't work out through independent shop. i thought i was in 955 forum. my apologies.

my dealer just told me the 10k service will run around $580 !!!, i asked what was

included and she told me oil and filter, car filter check and topping off of fluids. Seems crazy high priced to me and looking at what you guys are being charged i guess im right.

no - that's crazy. Take it to a good independent for the service and just to the dealer for campaigns, warranty work or software upgrades.
