2012 cayenne turbo or gts?
I'd have to agree with Pepper, once you're accustomed to the boost the NA V8 won't do it for you. This is just my opinion of course, but since you've had Cayenne Turbos before, I think you might miss the added torque and fun factor.
I took the CTT on a trip this weekend and there is about 60 or 70 miles of 2 lane road that I traveled on. The CTT passes cars with ease, not to mention that it's a hoot engaging kick-down mode and letting her rip. I've had quite a few high performance cars in the past, but none that are as comfortable, easy to drive, roomy, fast and that put a smile on my face as this one. I originally wanted to take the 997TT, but the fiance wanted to take the dog, so we were left with the CTT. After arriving home last night I was so glad that we didn't take the 997TT, and drove the CTT. It's just the perfect all around car.

Even more so coming from an owner of a 997tts

The GTS might be lighter, and sound better, but will not have the boost or be as easily tunable.

I have the mindset of either get a V6 OR get a Turbo . In other words either the Cayenne is going to be a pratical fuel efficient vehicle OR it's going to have the added factor of being a monster .
This rules out the V8 and GtS .
1) The V8 -- Isn't a Turbo , burns more gas than a V6 . It loses the battle on both sides .
2) The GTS -- Costs almost as much as a Turbo buit attempts to be some sort of elephant sized GT3 . It's not a Gt3 . It's not a turbo. It's not even pratical or as comfortable as the other models.

if you have the $, turbo forsure. I'm used to driving somewhat faster cars so got the s, but couldn't justify shelling out another 3 series in cost for the turbo. Gts is nice, but once you start optioning it its not far off from the turbo and has less power. I already got myself in enough trouble for spending 90k on a SUV, I don't think my wife or my wallet would've been happy if I spent another 40k. Plus, the main reason we got the cs is because we just started a family, all my current cars are 2 doors and coupes, I don't think my newborn son needs to ride around with 500 HP. In the end it all depends on your situation and what you want, get whatever is right for you and makes you happy.

i couldnt justify coughing up an additional 40-50k with options, taxes, license etc. for the turbo. Plus i never leave any of my cars stock so there goes another 10-20k on wheels, exhaust, kit etc. if my son wasnt born i would have bought a new 991 or a gt3. But since he was i needed a family car... lol
