Brake Squeek

I have an small but annoying brake noise when the CTT is almost stopped. It is more pronounced when they have been wet but they do it almost all the time. I've had the dealer check it but got the "that's normal" excuse. This is my 2nd CTT and I am pretty sure this isn't "normal".

Anyone else have this issue or have a fix??

i've noticed a little bit of a squeak with my CS lately...didn't mention it to the dealer at the last service as it slipped my mind. unfortunately i don't know of a fix (other than the '13 CTT that's coming in july)

I've heard there are sprays for certain brake composites that reduce squeaking.
I on the other hand have ceramics and it's a known issue. I'd rather a bit of squeaking over the brake dust, less pedal feel, and smaller look.
I didn't have squeaking on my GTS that had over 30k miles.

I have the same issue on both my CTT and Panamera 4S. There is NOTHING Porsche will do about it. On the 4S it is very loud but on the CTT it is just as you described.

I had a really LOUD squeal on my turbo brakes (non-ceramic). Last time I washed the car, I blasted the discs with water, and then took a microfiber loaded up with soapy water and rubbed over the discs, a fair amount of embedded dust came off onto the cloth. Be sure to use a microfiber you don't care about, or a paper towel, as brake dust stains are impossible to remove.

Afterwards, squeal was entirely gone. Several days later, I think I heard a tiny bit of squealing come back, but way more bearable than before.

My ceramics never squeal but the brakes on my wife's are pretty bad. The service mgr. (off the record of course) told me to take it out on a lonely road, get it up to about 80 and slam on the brakes. Do this a few times and it will cure the problem for a while. Not sure how long "a while" is.

Good feedback. I have an insider helping me with the issue and will keep the thread updated.

Common issue on so many German cars. Does seem to go away once the brakes wear in. Maybe that was what the service advisor was suggesting you do on that dirt road...
