Help my choose new shoes: Forgestar, BBS or OEM?
SubscribeI made the mistake of just ordering the base cayenne wheel
on my '12 JBM Cayenne and it drives me nuts every time I look at the car.
Looking for a 20" wheel (maybe 19"). I'm going to put all season tires on since I go into the mountains frequently in winter but live where it is warm and so dedicated snows don't make sense. That knocks out 21+" wheels.
I've been checking out aftermarket wheels and OEM wheels and narrowed it down to the following choices:
Forgestar F14 - brushed face with black barrel, 20x10s. Can get these at my door for about $2k.
BBS SV - new wheels from TireRack, titanium, 20x10s. I can get these and tires delivered directly to my installer. Wheels are about $2700.
Porsche OEM - I don't love either 20" wheel but prefer the Spyder of the 2. Seems next to impossible though to find these on eBay and a new set is in the $3500+ range. I could get the 19" Design II wheel or the 18" S III wheel second hand, with tires for $2k or less. These wheels are a definite improvement over current.
Any thoughts are appreciated!

When I ordered my JBM 2011, in Jan 11'..I picked the 20" Spyders(an $1870 option ),which (to me) are the most elegant and sporty wheel offered by Porsche
In additional to a nice wheel..I feel painted arches are A MUST
Ps: of the 3,I prefer the BBSs

Pepper - you have (at least) one huge advantage in that choice of the spyders. You car has ceramic brakes so no brake dust. Not sure I want to spend all that time cleaning the wheels each week!
Hey not sure if you've purchased anything yet but I just picked up a set of 21" Turbo II wheels so now i have to get rid of my 20x10" Victor Zehns in black with about 3000 miles on them and i also have a set of almost brand new (300 miles on them) 19" OEM Turbo III design wheels (OEM wheels on 11 & 12 CTT) w/color wheel centers and Eagle F1's in 265/50/19 (all season). Im just looking to get rid of them now because their taking up half my shed. If your interested in either let me know, ill give you an awesome price.
added a pic of the Turbo III's, and the tires and then the Zehns (i took the air out of the tires which is why its not seated on the edge of the rim)

Sent you a PM about the turbo wheels, might be an option
Sounds like you are one of the few with experience driving 19", 20", and 21" wheels. Any differences you noted in handling and harshness? I'd prefer 20" wheels because my impression is that they would handle significantly better than the 19" ones but perhaps not? Any impressions appreciated.

didnt get the PM ?, but in terms of handling from the 19's to 20's it all really depends on the tires and the aspect ratio. The 19's were 50 and the 20's 40, not a huge difference and i didnt really notice any real performance change when i switched over (the 19's were quieter though). Im going with 21" because im going with looks over ride quality, if your looking for something in between then a 19" or 20" wheel will work but tires can make all the difference in the world.
Usc55 - those wheels are nice too (like the Zehn's) but I'm really looking for something more of a departure from my current wheels which are 10 multispokes too. I want a more athletic look.
EasternLI - will try the PM again

BBS, OEM in that order.
