Do you think in an accident where someone hits the front of your car, they could muster the excuse that you had modified your car and as a result they didn't see you?

SUBCHAPTER A. GENERAL PROVISIONS

Sec. 547.353. COLOR REQUIREMENTS. (a) A clearance lamp, identification lamp, side marker lamp, or reflector mounted on the front, on the side near the front, or in the center of the vehicle must be or reflect amber.

$19 for a set - very quick delivery. Used them on three cars now, no problems, very pleased with the clean look.
+1 on these LEDs. used the white ones for the license plate lights, no ECS tuning adapter or anything, just plug and play, and the 5000K version is a good match for the LED lights up front, etc. used the amber version with the clear side markers to keep it legal. the amber LEDs are actually white when not illuminated, so no egg yolk look. again, simple plug and play. no error messages on the dash.

ordered the bulbs sunday night, had them wednesday, free, quick shipping!

Quick question, do USA spec 2012 or 2013 Cayenne V6 come with clear or amber side markers.

All the other Cayenne's I see on the road have the amber side markers, but for some reason, mine came with clear side markers.

USA spec should come with Amber lenses.

Thats what I thought too. Bought my brand new from a dealer in Southern California. Its a 2012 Cayenne Base.

Its also strange because it came with all the MY2013 upgrades like the lock buttons on the door handle and the dash clock.

I am not complaining, but just think it is very strange.

The lock buttons and dash clock were a mid-2012 implantation, I have a September 2011 delivery (2012 CTT) without them and my wife has an April 2012 delivery (2012 Cayenne Base) equipped with both of them.

yup my 2012 has the dash clock and lock buttons. Clear markers are probably put in by dealers, because they aren't "legal" or "safe" according to the side marker police...

so there is a good discussion about the bulbs but nothing mentioned about the actual DIY on how to install those clear side markers

I received the set from suncoast and bulbs from http://aznoptics.com/index.php?main_...&products_id=8.

How do I install them? can someone please explain to a noob

I just did mine on a 2011 CTT. Looks awesome. Here's the link. I did them in about 20min max w/no fishing line.

you can definitely cut down the time significantly with the "fishing line method" though i suppose now that they're changed out, it doesn't matter

Just noticed my wife's stock (as far as I know) BMW 325ci has a front left side amber sidemarker and a front right side clear sidemarker.
