color question

What is the name of the color shown here? I really like it but I don't see it in the "build your Cayenne" section of the site.

Never seen this color.
The Cayenne Blue is a very staid Navy.

I have the blue and in certain lights it's kinda like the color in the photo. The blue is a color that plays trick with your eyes. Some of my friend who's only seen it at night swear I had a black Cayenne. In the daytime sometime it has a purplish hue to it. It all depends on the light...

I know color can play tricks depending on light but this looks considerably lighter than the blue on the configure site.

Porsche photoshops and messes with their colors alot on their brochures and their configurator. Best to see it in person before picking. Even their "20 spider wheels are much more of a very dark gunmetal-type color than you see in their prints and config where it looks very silver. WYSI-NOT-WYG. Not until I saw a member's 'real' pic did I know what we were gonna get. The wife doesn't like darker wheels, so we (last minute) switched to another style.

Fully agree.

The brown color option, umber metallic, looks very brown in the catalogues and on the web special but is more of a dusty, brown-grey in real life. Jet green is darker in the metal as well as the dark blue; they make it out to be a slightly darker aqua blue in the catalogues but it's really just navy on the actual car. The metallic sheen to these colors helps though - on the blue for instance, it looks like a rich, royal blue in direct sunlight and sinisterly pseudo-black at night, so it's a good alternative to traditional black if you're into that.

[I ordered my Cayenne S in dark blue and it's due to arrive within a week, so I'm anxious to see how it looks... and for the car itself, of course.]

so I did a google search of "dark blue metallic cayenne" and saw this, which does look much lighter in real life than the shade depicted in the "build your own" section.

Just got a 2011 Dark Blue CTT. Here are some photos from the dealer. It is much darker than the official photo. I would call it navy. In the sun, it does lighten up, but never looks that bright blue. In the dark it is almost blue/black. Beautiful color though.

.... don't have any great pics of it at the moment. The first one is just before pick up at the dealers and the one below I took today but its parked up in my garage due the the rain here in England. Once the weather is better I'll stick some pics in my on line Garage on here. The Quantum Silver paint is a special finish and looks amazing in the flesh. SO here you go, it's number 72 of 1000 limited production and gives me a change from the other love in my life the CT
