Talking New Cayenne Diesel On Order

After 6 months of driving my base V6 Cayenne, I traded in my truck for a diesel version. I test drove the diesel and fell in love with the torque and acceleration. It felt like the 8 cyl vehicle. There was no smell or knock. I got up to 100 mph with minimal effort in a two mile sprint.

It is an October build

Congrats. Was thinking about doing the same thing, however, my dealer told me that the dealer requires more maintainence - some special fluid change ever 10k, oil change ever 5k, etc. Anyone hear of this?

My Cayenne completed production today, now waiting for transport to the port.

In about a month, I will have my truck.

Took delivery of my 911 Carrera S today, notified that my Cayenne Diesel is on vessel with a target date of being at the port on November 4th. Looks to be on track for delivery just before Thanksgiving.

There is a special ad blue type of additive that needs to be changed every 5K. The tank is under the spare in the cargo area.

Dealer is wrong. He probably didn't have any diesels in stock, and was trying to sell you a gasser. On the CD and the hybrid, the car tells you when it's time to change oil. Mine's telling me to change at 5000 miles, which suggests it's a "break-in" oil change. Then there's not another one on the current maintenance list until 20,000 miles - unless of course, my driving habits are such that the car tells me to change sooner. Same with the AdBlue DEF. Consumption varies with driving habits as well, but one tank should typically last 15,000 miles. The car will also give you about a 700 mile early warning when it's time to top up the AdBlue. Tank is under the spare tire, easy access, holds about 4.5 gal (DEF costs ~$4.50/gal at WalMart), it's barely more complicated than refilling your windshield fluid reservoir.

Smile

My Cayenne is here, I am taking delivery in a few weeks after repairs are completed on my home after the hurricane.

I need several items installed on my truck before delivery. I took a couple of pictures after PDI and minor detailing.

How do you distinguish between the V6 and the Diesel? The rear looks the same.

Except for the smoke from the exhaust :-)
