Interesting way to beat depreciation as u roll off the lot
If the dealership could give me an actual build date.. it'll be tempting and funny to do that.. buy the car.. trade it in on the same day and wait again for the turbo s..

Oh I do have red interior in the smart car.. guess that'll rationalize to not having the dual tone red interior like on the CTTS.

Back to your regular scheduled televised programming..

So I've been talking to my sales rep and he says that they'll get allocations in a month or two and production will begin next year and it will be a 2014 model for the Turbo S..

I really want the Turbo S and I'm stuck on the pro and cons of it.. If I don't take my current Turbo I'll have to wait for the Turbo S as well as wait until they sell the car until I get my 10% deposit back. Or I can buy the car, enjoy it until the Turbo S arrives and trade the current 2013 CTT in and lose the value of it.

Originally I wanted the dual tone red interior but on the actual porsche website it doesn't seem like it's a vivid red and that's less of a decision choice but .. since I don't plan to sell my SUV I worry I might get buyers remose that I didn't get "the best" even though I know realistically it's just a badge and a powerkit but.. that's the honest truth and I can't seem to rationalize myself out of it.. =P and have to keep thinking about it over time..

Then again sure it's a 2014 model early in 2013 but who knows when they'll change the looks of it again in 2015 or 2016.. guess that's kinda far from now to tell haha..

Any ideas or opinions from my fellow past, present, future porsche owners or forum members? ..

Larry

Frankly it's a matter of what you want and $$$$
There will be of course a face lifted cayenne and then another turbo s at the end of the run
That is what Porsche does with the product line.
If you wait you miss out on the 6 months or so of the current MY turbo driving pleasure. Then you'll take a hit on the trade.
I'm sure you know all this. We both know the s will be fabulous and standard model will need options to satisfy your itch
The choice is yours, but remorse is a tough nut to swallow for your passion.
I already made mine

Yikes. You guys are INTENSE !!!!!!!

Larry- You have so many ideas for your CTT that should satisfy you for a long time I would think.
You can make it uniquely yours and pump up the HPs easily.

I feel like you would be giving in to the "Porsche Marketing Gods" by spending all that $ just for a few changes.
But then again I don't have the full blown disease yet so maybe I should shut up................My turn might come.

Rob, your right that I could pump up the HPs easily with all my tricks and etc but.. haha the "but".. I think I am giving in to my personal "wants" which has always been to work my hardest, buy the best or don't buy at all and go all out or don't. I know it's different when it comes to cars that's always changing but .. it's pretty much a fact that the Turbo S is as high as it gets and it's not going to get any higher aside from the different years and aging part which is the normal to all cars.

I've been bouncing the idea back and forth and what Raklaw said... specifically.. "The choice is yours, but remorse is a tough nut to swallow for your passion." THAT.. I think pretty much hit me in the guts.. haha

The only thing I think that's driving my decision is.. practicality and realism.. realism is the money aspect.. practicality is.. can I actually obtain everything I want on the S on the regular turbo?.. the only part I can't say yes to is the interior.. and that dual tone red and black interior is so sweet!! It's a tad too much red and I think with all my carbon fiber pieces I originally picked... especially the carbon fiber grab handles will offset the red just enough.

However that Carrera red has so many different shades online depending on camera used to take it and photoshopped pictures.. I'm trying to see what it looks like in reality.. I don't like the ones on porsche's website yet I love the one on this thread on page 1.. but I know it's been pretty much photoshopped. I went to browse on youtube and found video footage of the red leather on a carrera
and it looks nice but on that particular car it's too much red.. like on the dash and wheel but.. i'm mostly interested in the shade of red and I assume that would be the same leather used. With the pano roof it'll light it up nicely during the day and different from the all black interior I currently have on the Turbo coming in on a ship..

Ahh..... Like Rawlaw said.. didn't think the Turbo S would be coming around the corner so soon.. I placed the order for my Turbo on my birthday on June 30th.. at this rate I probably will get it not for x-mas but for my birthday.. xP.. At the cost of the Turbo S with everything optioned the way it is.. with tax it'll be a grand total of about $191,000 which.. I can't afford if I have to also pay for depreication value of 6 months of the current Turbo if I drive it off the lot..

So much thought put into it.. I should blame the original poster for letting me see this .. haha just kidding..

I understand your passion Larry
You work hard and do deserve to enjoy playing hard as well
And that's exactly what I am stating:with just a few extra mods that can be done within a week, for about 10K$,you can play harder than you eventually would with the S...for far L"S"
While the upcoming "S" is nice..I believe it is only a half hearted attempt by Porsche and not deserving of the"S" logo-no ceramics and not that much extra power
My 2c is to forget the S and instead focus on the joy that you will have on your Bday, let the anticipation build...knowing that you will soon have a car that is more n more fun to drive every day...and can easily be tweaked to make it even more so
Think of it,a week after you get your CT,you can have an S beater...while saving tens of thousands...and I can guarantee that your passion will be more than well taken care of

A bit of a teaser for you.
I am very familiar with Carrera Red..Its breathtaking, especially in combination with Black.
I had already decided to break up the red a bit with CF grab handles.
And there are several ext colors that look great with the combo, but I'm sold on white pretty much.
With my CTT I'm amazed at how the Cayenne white is so much whiter than almost any other white car I see.
