Another mindless question..

I imagine that as one waits for the arrival of their new Cayenne a few months away that mindless little details pop in to mind.
Here's one to start with- On the bottom of the rear apron in the back there are 2 red lights. Does anyone know when they light up?

They don't, it's just a passive red reflector. I thought they would as well, but nope.

Thanks Pepper.
And I'm sure there will be more.

Here's one- does L.C.A. make a sound or is it just the blinking lights in the mirror?

Yup, reflector. Went out and verified that they don't light up at any light switch position or with the emergency flashers. The parts diagrams on the Sonnen Porsche website don't show any lamps associated with them either.

One interesting feature of which you may already be aware are the side illumination lights built into the headlight assembly. They illuminate at low speed whenever you turn the steering wheel. Gives you extra visibility in the direction you are turning.

If you get the LED package you also get some attractive light bars between the arm rest and the interior door surface. Nice touch during nighttime driving!

Seems to be just a blinking light. I haven't found a way to get a sound associated with them. Hopefully someone else will know the secret computer toggle that I have not been able to find.

Sounds good. I did order the LED packages to make the interior look cool at night. Still haven't seen one in person.

Unfortunately these don't light up while you are driving only while the doors are open. Anyone figure out how to make these light up while driving? This is in reference to the LED armrest/door lights.

one of the buttons on the upper console can turn them (and the horseshoe light) on or off for nighttime driving

Per the manual u hold the upper console button for the horseshoe light for two seconds or so and then the dimmable ambient light feature allows u o release the button when the amount of light u desire is achieved.
