Purchased 2013 Cayenne S, no XM option

Just bought a 2013 Cayenne S for the wife over the weekend. Love the car, however the car does not have XM radio, which means I can't recieve live traffic or any of the online services. I don't care for the online services, but the live traffic is a nice feature. I was wondering if I can get the factory XM radio installed?

The dealership just told me that and for me to get the XM, I would have to replace the whole unit. Really frustrating as you would think it would be standard on Porsche.

You would think a lot of things would be standard but not with Porsche.

I think this is the assumption that people make if they haven't bought a Porsche before. You've gotta get people to buy a soda with their meal to make a profit.

I guess they feel, since it is a Porsche, people will pay for the options. No wonder they are so profitable.

Most of your friends probably think you paid $65k for your Cayenne S because the website says that is the MSRP!

Simple answer is no, makes me really wonder why do dealers order vehicles without SiriusXM and traffic, as most people would like to have one or the other and the cost (included with the Bose and Burmeister package) is not great.

just a soda? More like you're paying for the spoon, fork, plate and even the damn napkins! My cs had 20k in additional options and there was still a lot more things that I wanted. But I had to restrain myself from adding another cheap car onto it. To think my cs has a Toyota Camry worth amount of options and its still not complete, to have everything I think it could have easily went up to a base 3 series or c class cost.

Here's something interesting, when I spoke to my dealer about getting the factory XM radio installed, I got a call back from my sales person and apologized for the confusion. He did tell me over the phone when buying the car that it had the XM radio option and I remember him mentioning it to me. But made a mistake due to him reading another cars options list instead of mine. Anyways, I guess he trying to figure out how to solve this and will get back to me. I have no clue what the dealership will do, but lets see.

Starting Nov, 2012, Porsche offers a new option called Online Service, this allows the PCM to receive traffic report, etc, through an iPhone or android phone. XM radio option is not required.

Thanks for the info, do you know by any chance how to connect the online services? Do I have to call up Porsche to do so?

No one at my dealer knows exactly how the Online Service works. But they have some cars coming in with this option, probably they will arrive by Dec, my salesman will find out how it works.

Thanks! I also reached out to my dealership and asked about it, no response yet.
