Lowering modules/links for the pig

I am thinking of lowering my CS that has factory air suspension. Anyone here has any experience or lowered their pig using the lowering modules/links? How effective are these things? And hows installation?

I received my Renntech lowering module from 3W Distributing in Las Vegas last week. I picked up my CTT yesterday.. I plan to install the module this week and from the looks of it.. installation is a piece of cake.

Currently I believe there's Renntech and H&R Springs. The H&R Springs is more expensive I believe but their connector is literally unplug.. plug in and go. With the Renntech is considered plug and play, but it's more like unplug main connector, swap some pins and plug back in, so it's totally reversible. What sold me on the Renntech is the ability to adjust each corner's height by the mm like corner balancing a car, just precise settings and it's slightly less expensive. I'll have more of a review when I install it

H&R has the same plug and play lowering module too. It came out not to long ago.

I had the Champion Lowering Module installed on my CTT. The ride was too harsh for me so I had the dealer take it out.

The lowering module.. was it sold by Champion or is that the company who designed the lowering module? Was it adjustable?.. I figured if it was adjustable you could keep it lower but not as low to the point where it made it too harsh?

I'm in Burlingame, we're next door neighbors ..

Hey Larry, glad to see a local on the boards!

I bought it through Champion, I'm pretty sure they just rebranded someone else’s module. It is adjustable. I had Rector Porsche do in the install. We played around with different heights. I found a height that was comfortable enough for day to day driving but it just wasn’t low enough to justify keeping it in. So now it's sitting in a box collecting dust in the garage!

Yea! Nice to see a local here too .. I own a mechanic as well as an auto body shop, two shops back to back on Rollins Rd right up from Rector hehe.. I can see them from the sidewalk lol..

The adjustable part.. was it adjusted using the controls on the car or.. was it done with either an Android tablet or windows laptop hooked up to it? Or was it neither?.. H&R's system adjust the height using the factory ride height controls to program it... RennTech uses the Android tablet or windows pc to program it. Just curious if there is another brand / option out there aside from the two I found

I know I got the Renntech one and I think Pepper09tt was thinking of buying one if i can show him it can stay at the ride height he had wanted it.. and if it's the same module as the one I have maybe you can get rid of it to him and he can get a deal ..

Thread hijack. Sorry.

This nagging question of mine has been bugging the hell out of me regarding springs. Is it possible to get a H&R lowering spring but still have a super soft suspension setup? I want the low profile look but also have a super soft suspension setup. How would I go about it?

Convert to air suspension is the proper way..

Lowering springs has a different spring rate that allows it to support the vehicle with less coils. Lowering springs are typically stiffer so your car doesn't bottle out. Super soft and plushy doesn't typically go hand in hand with lowering springs... that's just how it is...

Keep in mind that dampeners (shocks) and springs are two different things. If your ride is comfortable the way you like it now and handles fine, getting lowering springs should stiffen it up just enough.. not sure how much but it shouldn't affect how it dampens bumps. Without shocks or dampeners... if you were to hit a bump, your car will just keep bouncing up and down..

I did a little bit of research and found this, what do you guys think? Its way cheaper than the other alternatives, which leads me to doubt this lowering link. Anyone has any experience with this? Any thoughts are appreciated.

We offer the H&R lowering system that works directly with your Porsche factory air suspension to lower your chassis up to 40 mm beyond the factory limit. All modules are plug and play. This unit can removed whenever you want to return your Cayenne to return back to stock. For more information Click Here

I guess what the lower link cannot be done is adjusting to original highest level for off road but Electronic module can do this, right?

that's the guy I got my CS and S6 links from, but I bought it directly from his website and paypal'd him. his name was like mark or steve, he fedex overnights them so you receive them in 1-2 days. very easy to install and I think I only paid like $120 a set, it'll depend on what USD converts to Pounds at the time of transaction.

here's a pic of my CS, I set it at 2 finger gap all around, rides fine and ive had zero problems. anymore and the car starts to ride more harsh and choppy (bouncy). ive lowered all my Mercedes, audi etc. (cars with air sus) this way for the past 10 years. you don't even need to remove the wheels to install, lift to highest setting, the fronts you can reach in and do it, the rears you need to get on your back and lay down.
