V6 or Diesel

Ok. Quick question. All things equal - V6 or Diesel?
Coming down to decision time.

Thank you.

Assuming there is diesel readily available where you live, then no contest - Diesel.

I got a GTS, about 2 months now, if I can choose again, I would go with diesel. advertise 29MPG, most drivers get 25 to 26 MPG. Wow!!!

No 4-zone climate option on the diesel, if you are ok with that. Not me, so we bought a V8 instead.

Is it just the mileage issue that has so many of you recommending the diesel?
Is it better/different in any other way?

gets great mileage, but there is no performance downside to it. Sure, its no GTS or Turbo, but it still performs better than 99% of the other SUVs on the road, and I chose it because it will be great for towing my racecar too.

In my mind that - short of the number six - they aren't even the same class of engine. Your question would yield more substantive responses if it asked to compare the V8 and the diesel. The gasoline six banger is little more than a Porsche-tuned Volkswagen VR6.

Diesel, fun to drive with lots of torque down low.
V6 is boring.

Let's see... fuel consumption, range to empty, torque, stump pulling capacity ie boat + trailer+ house+ cop car if needed, longevity of the engine, resell value, did I mention torque??
