Have a 2015 SE Hybrid and it charges the same as you have described. In winter garage at about +5c, 125v charging voltage, fan does not come on. In summer garage at about +22c 125v, fan comes on and sometime cycles. Now have upgraded to 240v charging supply voltage. Summer fan on both 50% and 100% charging rate. Vehicle has the optional high voltage/current charger. I would say your car is charging normally and the fans are cooling the coolant which circulates through the battery.

Thank you Paul... that is exactly what is happening. I charged last night, but the weather was cooler and hence the garage is cooler (below 77 degrees F) and the fan/cooling system did not go on. I have now placed a thermometer into my garage so I can monitor the situation better. I have taken the liberty of forwarding your reply to my dealer because I had been in contact with them on this issue for some time. I am curious as to their reply. What irks me is that the user manual should, perhaps, point out that in warmer weather the cooling system must run to protect the battery -- assuming that is normal for the hybrids. In order to reduce the time frame I will also install a heavy duty electric outlet in the garage so I can take advantage of the quicker charging option. Again, many thanks.

Curious if changing the clutch oil permanently fixed the problem? Have a 2012 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid and am getting Hybrid Warning light. Have to pull over and restart car to get it to clear. Porsche mechanics have not been much help.
