Considering '11 or '12 Turbo - few questions
I'm looking for a '11 or '12 Turbo. Was actually considering GTS at first, but was turned off by its rear seat. I also do not like new cars, especially for a utility/winter vehicles. Rather than getting worried about every new ding and scratch, I'd rather buy it a bit "broken in" and enjoy it without worries, if that makes sense.
Anyway, I was looking at the cars on the market and noticed that very few listings have PDCC listed. Is it that unpopular or are they just forgetting to mention it? For me, it's a must, because I very much dislike body roll. I was actually considering E63 AMG Vagon at first. I had to dismiss it because of rubber-band tire profile (and no way to put smaller wheels on to increase tire profile) and very short front suspension travel making it barely capable of SF roads, not even speaking about an occasional soft-road drive to biking or rock climbing locations. Turbo with PDCC would give me car-like handling in a more capable format.
Also, are there any other options that would be a must for Turbo? Anything to look out for? Any reasons to get '12 instead of '11?
Thanks!

When you talk about the GTS' rear seat, I assume you looked at one with the GTS-specific interior, which does have more "bucket" like rear seats? You'll find that most GTS actually have just "regular" seats - 14 way or 18 way, same as you would find in a Turbo. Just FYI there, don't write off a GTS just because of the seats because those are optional and actually fairly rare.
PDCC is expensive and probably 99% of customers wouldn't even notice the difference. If you like to really canyon carve in the car, then it's probably worth it to you. My GTS doesn't have it, and I do not feel it lacking - there is minimal body roll for a car this tall (particularly in "Sport" chassis setting). If you can arrange to drive a car with and without it, I'd definitely do that - you might find it's not something you need, after all.
I don't have experience with PDCC in the Cayennes, but in the new 991 I find it makes the car feel a little too artificial in the handling department since it's erasing the feedback the chassis is giving you (and honestly how much does a 911 roll anyway?).
Certainly nothing wrong with lightly used P-cars though, I can't blame you for shopping for one a couple years old that has taken the major depreciation hit and you can just jump in and drive it without worries... Happy shopping

Honestly, I have ARS (Active Roll Stabilization) coupled with Dynamic Dampers on my BMW - and I hate it. Feels very artificial. Feels mushy on the straight ahead and weird when turning.
Sorry, active anti-roll bars just don't do it for me.

Well, I tried PDCC on Cayenne, and I liked it a lot. On 911, I do not see a point - the roll is insignificant, and the car is good as it is. The new 991 GT3 does not have it even as an option, and probably for a good reason. But for an SUV it's pretty useful, because roll is significant, especially with modern sticky tires. PDCC also pretty much emulates disconnecting roll bars when in off-road mode, which should make ride more suitable for occasional dirt/gravel roads, I guess.
As for BMW with active roll stabilization, I am not sure what car you are talking about, but X5M feels ok to me with it, and the new 5 series feels artificial to me with or without it. Have not tried regular X5 with it.
So I am pretty set on PDCC.
Thanks for the hint on the rear seats in GTS - I've seen half a dozen of them and all were with bucket seats in the rear, so I just assumed that's the only way it comes.

PDCC and PTV are a MUST! Very noticeable and great handling on my CTT. It is an expensive option which is why you are seeing many of them but in my opinion it is worth every penny. I have a lot of experience with CTT's and think you need to drive both versions to see the difference.
The sport seats are excellent overall. A little difficult for entry/exit but worth it compared to the regular seats. Again, test drive and you will find what suits you best.

I drove CTTs both with and without before ordering our 1st. I would not even think of not having it and it is on both our CTTs along with PTV. What I'm really not sure of is how much of the increased handling is from PDCC and how much from PTV.
I picked up a 2011 Cayenne turbo this week, its great. Nearly as good as my ford raptor in the desert too. I should have got torque vectoring plus for the rear diff lock though.
It's great on road great off road. Off road tyres are a drama though 19 inch is the smallest rim but near impossible to get good 19 inch off road tyres.
Only real problem is the suspension self lower from high at 35kph!! I'm looking for a fix for this!!

Dad has a 2012 CTT with PTV and no PDCC.
I have a 2013 CTT with PDCC and PTV and the difference is huge. It is very noticeable. I also notice the tear wear is different with vehicles with PDCC especially the front tires. The tires have very little wear on the outside edges like normal cars but rather wear down the middle. Just food for thought...

You definitely notice the PDCC with PTV (many of my passengers commented on how flat the car is), there are many posts on this forum where people talks about it, worth a search. I don't think you can get the PTV without the PDCC, but I might be wrong.
To me, PDCC&PTV is a must with Cayenne! The Cayenne behaves completely different on PDCC. Once you test drive both, it'll be a no brainer for you as well.
