Break dust reduced 80%- ceramic pads
I thought I would throw in my 50 cents. I've been using the Autobahn Wheels product by SwissVax with great success. My rims are not black though, they are grey painted Turbo 2 wheels. Changing out the pads would be a little extreme for me as there's the product I've mentioned specifically designed to address this. SwissVax is not cheap either but its products are one of the best you'll ever find on the market.
Just found out from EBC that they don't have a red pad for the GTS 958. Only yellows.
I heard you want to avoid the EBC red's as they glaze the rotors and are horrible when you get on them, I went with the EBC yellows..
I can offer one thing not to try. Porsche sold me a $17 jar of Wheel Wax, along with a claim that brake dust won't stick to it. Don't waste your money. That Armor-All wheel protectant is useless too.

EBC does not have the reds available for the GTS, only the yellows. Tried them for 3+ months(1000+ miles) and they squeal like a muni bus. Called EBC and they said to give it another 300 miles. Still squealed and didn't see a huge difference in braking power. Took them off and went back to the OEM pads. Sent back the brakes and got my money back. Oh well, I tried. Just have to live with the brake dust I guess.

Glad to know ceramics are out now. However, while my wheels get dirty, the brakes really dont. 15 months left in the lease, think I will wait for the next one to do ceramics.
I have used Akebono for years on Mercs and Boxsters. There is still dust but it is a larger flake size and light in color. I have done many many things to a Boxster including my own IMS and the single most rewarding thing was having less dust. I have done several threads on it on another forum and I have found most folks get the same reward out of this change.
I'm glad to hear there are some choices out there for my 958. I haven't found Akebono for but it sounds like any good ceramic brand will work. I'll check it out and will report back how it goes.
As for wearing rotors. From where I sit that is hogwash, just my two cents. Maybe they generate more heat, donno, or may there is just as much dust but it is lighter in color who knows. I do know that I drove my Boxsters really hard, I love breaking at the last possible second so I have clearly put rotors through tough tests and I have not seen any abnormal wear.
Oh and if you have a Boxster 986 'S', 987 Base, or 981 Base, I have some barely used Akebono pads for the rear I'll sell for cheap. Send me a PM.

Picked up the GTS last week. So far so good with the new pads. Stopping power feels fine, no noise. I've put about 300 - 400 miles on it and the wheels are NOT black which is a good sign!
Great. It looks like you are getting similar results to mine. People have asked about any change in stopping power but I haven't been able to say for sure. After switching to the winter wheels/tires after getting the ceramics it made comparing more difficult. Do you feel any difference?
Great. Thanks for the update. I always used Akebono but have not found them for my Cayenne. Maybe I'll give these a try.
