Spare tire carrier
Spare tire carrier
I had a long road trip planned and since the goal was to explore remote and rural I needed to have a full sized spare.
I had Nathan of CBI Of Road make me a hitch mounted carrier. I had the High Lift jack mount removed and a mount to carry two, two gallon rotopax made.
The mount does not rattle and is easy to fold down to access the hatch.

ive seen 955/957's with the full size spare as an option or accessories option. do they not have this for the 958's? if you don't mind me asking, how much did they charge you to make yours?

Scroll down on this page for a similar option that has the tire sitting lower giving greater visibility out the rear window. A small tab stabilizes the top of the tire with the weight supported by the hitch. I opted to carry two full size spares secured in a roof basket. Having a diesel, fuel range has not been an issue. Not much support available in the middle of Big Bend National Park!

Spare tire mount.
Nice setup. My spare tire folds down to get to the hatch. I am in the process of having a roof rack made to mount to the Thule Aerobars. Here are a couple more things I did in making the Cayenne EXPO ready. I also made a 5lb CO2 tank system for airing the tires and flat repair.

I just need to find a way to lift the car an inch or two and see about finding a light/brush bar for the front.
I've been to Big Bend and it is great as along as you don't go in the summer.

Like your set up for the fridge.
For our bush bar, we tapped into the front toe hook receptacles. The threads Porsche uses are not standard. Purchased two tow hooks, cut the eyes off and went from there. Tubing bent, welded and then powder coated. Most expensive towel rack I ever had. Looking next for rock sliders.
Before we spend any more time - money I want to get more confident in the capabilities of the Cayenne diesel. Porsche deleted even as a option locking differentials! We took one over night trip down interesting dirt roads. Next trip was a bit more adventurous but not technical. Do not intend to go rock climbing, just hoped the Cayenne would have been as capable as our long gone '87 Miti Montero.

I was thinking of using the tow hooks but the bar would have to be in pieces as the main bar would have to be bolted on the modified tow hooks.
Have you found any sources for a lift kit ?
Are you on EXPO ? This is the thread on EXPO for Cayenne's.

I realized I did not post up pictures of the carrier folded down . I also mounted a Stinger flashlight and 5lb C02 tank to the cage.
I think my next project is to build a platform to increase my cargo space.
