CD Platinum pricing?
That said, I think the sticker price of my CD was just under $76k and I got it for $75k even. They threw in a few extras (and they are not happy we are paying cash, trying to sell us on financing).
No idea if I got a good/bad deal. I'm sure some will chime in saying I overpaid and just as many might chime in saying I got an OK deal all-in. Not sure if I want to share the dealership so I'll keep that private. If you are in the area you'll probably guess who it is. This was a vehicle they had on the lot. It's a CD Platinum Ed.
Hope that helps.
We paid MSRP on or CV6 2013 and were told we were lucky to get one...There were none to be found at the time.
I guess it all depends on timing, but there hasn't been much talk about the discounts people are getting like there was when I got mine 1.5 years ago.
At that time I got 4% off which was on the higher side of normal here on the East Coast. Out West it seemed that 5% was pretty common with the occasional 6% chiming in.
Porsche dealers definitely play hardball, but there are variables. Since this was my second car from the dealer (and salesman) I didn't even have to ask for a discount (and I was happy enough with 4% that I wasn't going to stress over maybe getting another percent or two), but I know others that got 0-2% from the same dealer even after trying to argue it down.
mmmazing, You might call around to the MD and DC dealers since Philly isn't that far off. You might be able get a better deal or at least enough to help your bargaining at your local dealer.

Bought a 2014 Platinum CD at the end of January. Sticker $74.5K and paid $68.5K. Probably could have pushed a bit harder and got them down a few more, but felt like I had gotten pretty close to the floor. In hindsight I should have aimed for 10% off sticker and then quit.
The trick is finding one on the lot and then finding another one just like it on another lot and getting both P dealers in a bidding war for your business. It is a commodity sale and we don't have to all be friends afterwards... Good luck.

I was a little disappointed in my buying experience. We love the vehicle but hated the push for financing. We didn't finance and as soon as they found out we were serious about paying cash they almost didn't want to deal.
If Porsche does not self-finance what types of soft-dollar kickbacks are the financing banks giving the dealer? They would not give up trying to push me to finance.
EDIT: Not trying to act like a high-roller. I don't want to disclose full figures but after a trade-in there could have been very small amount of money to pay cash.

On another note a lot of dealers are iffy about cash buyers on cayennes, range rovers etc due to high number of people exporting them to China.

one note on the exporting situation. I have to sign a contract stating I will not be exporting the car within first year of ownership, every porsche exported apparently gets reported to Porsche USA and you will be on the black list for all future purchase if you are caught
They pushed us to finance as well but the thing that really irritated me was that they did an actual credit check without telling us. When I got the alert from my monitoring agency I *****ed them out and they said they do that with cash buyers to verify their identity. I don't know what the heck that has to do with anything given I had a bank issues cashiers check for them. The GM of the dealership called me after I complained (survey feedback) begging to let them make it right. In the end they refunded me $500.00 for my "inconvenience". Oh, and I got a tin of cookies in the mail.
I don't know why you are irritated. My prior cash purchases necessitated a "silent" credit check too.
On a side note, I no longer use cashier checks. A friend of mine used them once to buy a BMW and the dumb dumb clerk thought it was a loan check and put a lien on the car on behalf of the bank.
Never had a problem using a personal check. And never had a problem of being pushed to do financing, Porsche or other brands.

I planned on using a personal check as well but they refused. They indicated they had been"stiffed" before (check not clearing after the fact) so I suggested they contact the bank to verify. They didn't want to so I just brought the cashiers check.
Also, I am irritated about the credit check because 1) I protect that closely and 2) I view that as an unnecessary step.

My dealer was very cool. I told them I was a USAA member and they knew that was going to be tough to pursuade me to leave. I told them to try to beat 1.5% and they could only get to 1.75%. I told them that USAA was the deal and they understood, no fuss.
I had no idea about the export rules but that makes sense; however not applicable for my situation.
This was a great buying experience right up until the financing part. I drove up twice prior to picking up the car to leave a few personal things (gifts for my wife & kids) in the car so they would be there when we picked it up (jewelry and some Porsche gear I picked up in NYC as a surprise). When it came time to pay I showed up with a bank check. They found out I was not financing and started pitching this "protect your assets, better to put your money to work elsewhere, protect your money, etc." song and dance and it got to the point that I felt as though they were giving me a hard time over the fact that we would not finance. I was put on the spot a few times and it did not make me feel comfortable. I finally had to make the sales consultant and his manager do the math and tell me how much interest I'd pay if I financed (finance to own). Then ask them "why would I pay you $xxx to finance when I can just pay cash and save $xxx?" It was just bad and wrong in my eyes the way they forced it.
Fast forward a few days and we have started seriously thinking about ordering (for ED) a Panamera and they are giving us a bit more push back on pricing and availability, again because of no financing.
(I took a capital loan from my business that I can pay back interest free - none of anyone's business but I don't need to finance either car.)
It's very much a turnoff to the whole Porsche buying experience.
