HD2 Radio

On both of my MB's the free HD stations just tuned in on the radio. I can't figure out how to get the same thing to happen on my 2014 CD. Is this some option which Porsche charges or is there a trick to tuning then in? I have searched and found post in the Panamera forum, but what they noted doesn't seem applicable for my PMC. Any help is appreciated.

If you have HD radio, tune in a station, then press the up or right arrow and it will take you into the HD selections if that channel offers them.

And somewhere in the menu is a checkbox to have HD on or off. I have it off becuse the HD around here is a joke. It goes in and out and has long delays in the sound starting. Where I am the stations should be fine but HD is lacking. I asked a radio station engineer friend about it and he laughed knowing how disappointing the whole HD thing worked out to be. When it does work the sound quality is superior.

I must not have it as I can't forward to the HD stations from the free ones. I bough the car off the lot, so it must not have come equiped with this option. Porsche really screws us over with all the options.... So many things are standard on all other luxury cars, but are costly options on P cars. F'ing annoying I tell ya.

My wife just bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel. For like 1500 it includes evrything. Radio UI including voice control, nav, HD radio, sat (1 year free by the way) is all included and way better than what P has right now.

Its a Jeep...light years ahead and a third of the cost.

I can't recall if HD was a paid option or not, but it sounds better than Sat Radio and significantly better than non HD FM. On mine it automatically tunes it in.

HD is free since it's built in the radio and it sound MUCH better. There are so many dropouts where it reverts to non HD on it's own and I am near NYC where the transmitters are. Just odd.

it's not free, it's a $370 add on (QV3) on top of the PCM

I know, because I didn't bother clicking the option and mine does not come with it

Oh got it. Mine came free with the BOSE which is standard of the turbo. I rarely listen to the radio and just load up the juke box fundction with music.
I was lucky to get a CTT right after they added the juke box function to the PCM.

I have the bose option and can't get the HD free radio to tune in. Also, I have not been able to get anything to load to the jukebox. I have tried mp3's and itune files from a memory stick multiple times and with different file structures. None have been able to transfer. P seems to make this stuff hard. On our 2012 ML it is easy. Simply rip from a CD or tune in HD over the air. What gives. How do you all load files to the jukebox?

Hmmm. The only thing it will load from is a memory stick not even a CD. I just plug a stick and and you have to wait for a while and it shows up on the screen that shows FM AM SAT AUX and so on. Mine starts playing whatever is on the stick but somewhere is a selection to COPY the folder to the system and you see a bar showing how much is loaded in. Now I am using MP3s so they should work for you. If it doesn't work I will try to get to the car and write down each step.

Ensure that your Porsche radio system is equipped with an HD radio receiver. While most modern cars do have this feature, it's possible that some earlier models might not.
