Front and rear skid plates labor quote?

Hi all,
I recently picked up a 2014 Cayenne Turbo off the lot and I am looking to install the front and rear aluminum skid plates. I asked my local service advisor and he quoted me $1620 for the labor alone

Does this even sound right? Please chime in!

do the rear one your self and have a friend help you get the rear bumper off, very easy DIY

I tried to do the front ones myself but the front bumper needs to come off and in order to retrofit the front one...you have to do some cutting yourself on the plastic skid plate. It's a lot of work and it's not easy.

Did you already buy the plates? I did that on my Cayenne a while ago but I don't believe I paid that much in labor. I could try to find the invoice to tell you exactly how much I paid. I can also offer my front plate at a low price to help you out with the high labor cost. I have since converted to TechArt front skirt and bumper and had to uninstall the front plate. It's in a brand new condition.

I removed the rear bumper myself to install an after market hitch. I have never done any auto body works before and it was a piece of cake, even with just some old tools I had laying around. Everything came off and went back on cleanly. Porsche really engineered these to be easily serviceable.

Now cutting into things I don't know...

About a $1000 when I had it done, excluding the plates which I purchased from Suncoast.

If you were in Dallas area I'd get them done for you at about half...Just did mine at my shop (front skid plate), I have a lift so that helps. It does take a good amount of work to install. Not a project you want to do unless you are completely set up with tooling. You do have to make cutout notches in the plastic as mentioned in earlier posts.
