I called my dealer and here is the reply:

Orders started, and production of ONLY Cayenne S and Turbo will start in June 2014.
GTS production will start in 2015, one year later.

Expexted changes about Cayenne 2015

* Cayenne S & Cayenne GTS will be 6 Cylinders (Bi-Turbo)
* New colors (Pearl White, and Sand White).
* Doppelkupplung (PDK) Transmission.
* Auto Closing doors.
* Rear lights probably looks similar to Macan

I don't buy the PDK or Macan tail lights either for the facelift. The lights will probably make it onto the next full version, but Porsche has so far been adamant that the PDK can not handle all the Cayenne is designed to do (towing and off road specifically). I expect it will happen at some point, but I'll be shocked if its part of this facelift.

I also agree that I expect the GTS will remain a NA v8 for now. The base and the S will be smaller turbo engines though.

Is the 2015 going to be that different? Is it just the outside? The spy pics i have seen don't look that much different than the 2014.

No, this is just a mid-cycle refresh. There will be some visual tweaks to the inside and outside as well as some motor tweaks (probably going to smaller turbo engines for the base and S models) as well as some option changes.

The big changes will be the replacement for the 958 which should be the 2017 or 2018 MY. That's when you'll see wholesale changes like from the 957 to the 958.

I don't think the Cayenne can ever be fitted with the PDK. It just isn't robust enough to handle towing for starters...

I don't think "ever" is correct, but it does sound like the automatic double clutch systems have some more work ahead of them to be able to handle the stress of towing and off road use.

There was a day when basic slush boxes weren't capable of towing as well. Then they could tow, but a good driver could do better with a stick. Now automatics have taken over towing in non-commercial vehicles. The double clutch systems will get there too I'm sure.

And yes I remember my dad saying how horrible the automatic transmission was and how it would never be able to tow worth a damn. Now all his vehicles (including the two he tows with) are automatics...

Did the dealer mention Cayenne still has Platinum Edition in 2015 and when it could be ordered? Thanks!
