Desert off roading on "295/35 R21" Pirelli tires

Planning to head to the desert this weekend (not driving around just getting to our campsite), and I wonder if anyone has ever tried their CTT in the desert? I know that I definitely need to deflate the tires from 42 psi to at least 30 psi. Any thoughts on what this does to low profile tires?

Thanks in advance,
Moss

nothing good. deflation is for high profile narrow width tyres, it makes them wider. low profile cant be more wide. but tyre can be easy unmounted at speed or in turn.

I have driven my CT in the sand with Full Load (no deflation) and it drove just fine! better than some 4x4 in the market. I almost got stuck, but thanks to PTV, it saved me from that .

I was surprised of how capable the car is in the sand. Even though it has the 21" wheels and low profile tires. I didn't deflate the tires, and the car cut through the sand like a champ

Awesome pics. Thanks for sharing. I would imagine the adrenaline driving in the desert like that. How often can you get to enjoy that, and how fast do you go?

sort of an expensive sand blasting of the paint on the rims tho no? i'd have at least put on the winter wheels to prevent damage.

I had that concern as well, so the wheels had an extra coat of wax. And after a nice wash no microabrasions was noticed.
