Hello guys,
I've been lurking around this forum for quite sometime now, and have always been a BMW owner. I'm proud to say I've placed an order for my first P-car over the weekend, it'll be a 2016 Cayenne GTS. My SA advised delivery will be sometime October/November, very exciting times indeed!
Here's the Porsche Code for my build

2 days after submitting the initial order, I'm already having second thoughts
, I guess this is somewhat normal lol?
Not sure if I should go with the Carbon Fiber interior trim or just stick with the brushed aluminum...
Thanks,
Richard

Congrats! I love the color combination.
In my opinion the brushed aluminum looks great in your car. You can always change the trim later if you really don't like it. That's what I did with my car and it was only a fraction of the price.

Thanks for the compliment, I'll defnitely post pictures once I take delivery.
Nice build. Not sure why everyone else is saying the aluminum interior matches the build. There is nothing else aluminum on the car. I would go with the carbon fiber personally. Congrats..look forward to pics when she arrives.
If history is any indication, Porsche Aluminum will fare FAR better than Porsche Carbon Fiber over the course of time.

i have similar but V8, no red interior and 21 wheels
you won't be disappointed. it is like driving a tight coupe in corners. defies physics
i stuck with the aluminum simply b/c every car now has carbon fiber accents inside and i think its more refined looking.
what car (bmw i guess?) were you in before? What else did you consider?

I was actually a bit worried that the aluminum trim will show scratches easily.
very nice build!

How's the ride quality with 21 wheels?
I live in Vancouver, Canada, so we do get a bit of snow once or twice a year. I was interested in the optional 21 inch wheels but they only come in summer tires only right? Which means i'll have to but another set of wheels and tires for winter. At the end, I opted with the 20 inch wheels with all season tires, so I can have a reason to convince the wife we need to upgrade to either 21 or 22 after market ones down the road

The BMW journey started with a 2006 E60 550 M Sport 6spd. The car was pretty solid but after a few years the interior felt dated and I was getting a bit weary of driving a MT as a daily.
My next and current ride is a 2011 F10 535 Xdrive M SPort. Also another solid build, but I was never really excited when I picked up the car as it was just another BMW, yes I admit, it indeed is a first world problem

The lease on 535 is coming up at the end of the year, so I've been doing some car shopping for the last couple of months. Interesting enough, I was doing a scheduled service last December at my dealership, and sporadically decided I wouldn't mind trying a SUV/SAV, so I placed an order for the new BMW X5. After ordering the car, I've come to realization that I wouldn't mind stepping away from the BMW playing field and try something different.
I went by MB, and tried the new ML and a 2014 CLS, both weren't something I wanted to own. Then I went to check out the Ranger Rover Sport HSE. The exterior was appealing, but the in car technology was subpar to what I was expecting.
At last, I ended up at our Porsche dealer. The cars I first tried was a Cayenne Diesel, then a Panamera S. For whatever reason, the interior spaciousness feel of the Cayenne hit it home for both my and I, and that's when I started playing with the never-ending-Porsche-configurator lol

After countless builds, the Cayenne Diesel I was going to order came to around $95K CDN before taxes and the wife suggested why not look at a sportier model since you're always preferred the Msport over standard trim on my BMW's.
It has been quite an experience, and I definitely can't wait to enjoy the drive home
Time will tell if they've gotten better, but we've had customers in the past have some trim replaced under warranty for delamination - only to have the trim do the same thing after about 2 years...this time unfortunately no longer under warranty.

There is no doubt that when new, the CF does look outstanding though!

A Cayenne GTS is out of my reach, but I do plan to find myself a great CPO Cayenne S when my F10 lease ends next August. My kids are old enough that I am starting to need the space, and at this point I'm sure the Cayenne will handle better than the F10 does anyway.
Keep us posted as you get to know yours.
Wow, almost a carbon copy of my experience. I had a 2005 E60 545 sport package (no M-sport yet that year) that I loved. Got the itch, too soon frankly, and traded it for a 2013 535 xDrive M-Sport - which, though beautifully engineered, has proven to be a completely boring car.

I've always been a fan of the Alpine White BMW offered, which was what I had on the E60. I'm now on the Space Grey F10, it definitely hides the dirt well.
You are totally right, the driving experience on the F10 is no match compared to the E60!
The pricing on the GTS was quite a hard pill to swallow, the explanation I convinced myself was I'll just push back the 911 weekend-car-dream a few years further
ride is great with 21s. surprisingly good esp. as i live in manhattan where there is more pothole than road oftentimes. and that is with suspension on normal. sport is rough (as it should). Comfort feels too bouncy.
i got 19 inch turbo rims with snows for the winter. neg. at cost from dealer when i bought my gts.
former car was X5M. Wonderful car and i did same as you where i opted for the 20s and put on all season Conti DWS which was great. So great that i never bought the 21s!
I like the look of the 20s as well so you may just be happy with those to be honest (i wont tell your wife)
please report back when your GTS lands so we can hear how that turbo v6 feels. i'm very curious

Ha! I'm going through a bit of the same thing. Just bought a 14 GTS with aluminum trim. Looked at a couple of others which had carbon trim and steering wheel. Really nice, but they didn't have a couple of the other things I wanted. I pick up my car on Friday and I feel like all of these thoughts will go away once I start driving it. The aluminum still looks great. Look forward to seeing more of your car when you get it.

What color is your interior by the way? Feel free to post pics once picked up.
