Replacing my stock 958 CTT Exhaust tips??

I am looking to change out my stock exhaust tips since they are slightly discolored and i was not able to polish up.

I'm looking for input or advice on exhaust tips and specifically, Fabspeed's version.
Their price is going up significantly for 2015.

Currently, looking at VIVID's website for quad exhaust tips by FABSPEED for around $344 shipped.

Fabspeed's website (they just raised their price from $350 to $750 for 2015)

I know you are probably looking for something new but I always loved the way the black pipes look on the GTS so I sprayed my existing turbo pipes with Plastidip and they look great. And I went from always cleaning them to never touching them. Just a thought.

I too like the black tips better than the chrome tips. Are the diameter of the Fabspeed tips larger than stock? I made a couple of purchases over the past month from Vivid and they are definitely excellent to deal with (ask for Leo).

As always, thanks to both of you for the input!

I'm a huge fan of the black GTS tips...
I would have preferred black trim on my CTT.
Unfortunately, i have chrome finishings.

Either would probably look good so it will come down to personal taste, cost, and what mods i want to do for this CTT.
I will consider the plastidip option since thats a minimal cost option and still looks great.

Appreciate the info for Vivid. I'm sure it will come in handy sometime...

If money weren't a factor, i would get the Akropovik carbon tips!
I find it hard to justify $1500 on tips alone
However, anxiously awaiting HOiYA's review on his upcoming Akro exhaust

I also contacted Jason from House Motorsports on the tips.
They've been great to work with on a few other things I've ordered.

With the awesome deal I got, it was basically free CF tips and then some on the exhaust! Hoping to have it installed in a couple of weeks.

I look forward to hearing yours HOiYA!

Anyways,
I decided to try both options.
I bought the Fabspeed exhaust tips through House Motorsports. Thanks Jason!

I'm also going to remove my original tips and get a can of black plastidip for comparison.

I'll post back to show:

1) Stock tips in stainless/chrome (crappy durability)
2) Fabspeed chrome tips
3) Stock tips with black plastidip

Should be a busy weekend

Why didn't you get the OEM black GTS tips instead of the chrome?

You mean these?

https://www.suncoastparts.com/produc...958TIPBLK.html

Honestly, the stock tips didn't impress me in the durability dept. - especially going for $1k.
The Fabspeed tips were 1/3rd the price of the black GTS OEM tips.
I got em at a steal before the price went up $750.

I'm really looking forward to the Fabspeed tips though...
I can Plastidip my stock tips and see which i like better.
Then i will sell the ones i don't like.

The best part...
Having another 600 bucks in my pocket, i finalized a set of TiKore matte titanium lugs w/ custom laser etching on the security lugs.
Gonna be sweet...

HAHAH! What did you get laser etched on the security lug? My set of Tikore's are just waiting for the HRE's to arrive!

I'm glad to see you did a 180 on trading in your CTT and opted for some mods!

Thanks bud. I am too now.
I seem to get the itch around Christmas for a new ride.
Good thing i can tame it with some mods.

With a few recent purchases:
--new set of summer tires
--IPD Plenum
--exhaust tips
--detailing supplies (clay, polishes, wax, etc.)
--Tikore lugs
I should be in good shape over the next few months!

I also plan to get a Rupes polisher before spring to get the paint in as good a shape as it was when new. Then, i plan on getting equipment to bleed the brakes and be prepared to change brake pads/drums when the time comes.

The next mods for 2015 are GIAC tune and exhaust system. The Tubi or Fabspeed are in my price range, but i cannot wait to hear your new Akrapovik system.

To me, its rewarding to have such a nice ride and be able to take care of it and do my own maintenance/modifications.

Harlequin,
I have to say....
The Plasti Dip looks amazing!
I put about 4 coats on my old tips today.
I expect to put a final coat on tomorrow morning and then call it quits.

It looks amazing!
For the minimal time commitment and 6 dollars for the can,
Definitely, the best mod for the money!

On the other hand, the Fabspeed tips arrived last Friday and look amazing too!
I installed them yesterday and was certainly impressed!
Good to have choices
