958 gts
A family member recently got a 2016 GTS, and after living with it for a little while, I realised how the character of the V8 actually makes it feel like a different vehicle. My last Cayenne was a 957 S, and while I loved it, it was always happier cruising, rather than being driven.
After experimenting with various other SUV's (BMW X5 5.0 & M, Audi Q7, Mercedes ML AMG), I decided I wanted the last of the NA V8 GTS's.
Well after what turned out to be weeks searching for the right V8 GTS, finally found one with all the toys I wanted, PDCC, Full Leather, Pano Roof were just to name a few, but I had a pretty long list.
Then I saw this Carmine Red version (Was initially looking for white or silver), and I had to have it. It had all of the toys I wanted, plus more, only missing out on the adaptive cruise control and the lane departure warning.
So far I've put on 800Kms in the 2 days I have had it, and wow. I have never driven an SUV with so little body roll, and that noise. Sure turbo's make everything better, but man this thing just loves do drop 2 gears and howl.
So far I am extremely impressed, its made me kind of kick myself for not getting one earlier to be honest.
I'll leave you with a few pictures for now, no mods for now, but will have it fully detailed in the coming few days.

The dog seems to match the interior well

So while Chloe is all cute and all, anyone have any ideas how to puppy proof the rear seats.?
I dont need the luggage space partition thing (Yet!), anyone know of a durable cover (Tequipment maybe??), something that could just cover the entire rear seats so that she doesn't completely destroy them.

Love the color combo, red is really nice on the GTS.
I have rear seat protector from PETEGO, it's pretty durable, and has cut outs for seat belt buckle in case anyone needs to sit in the back with the seat cover on.

The colour is really growing on me, initially it wasn't something I was considering, but the uniqueness of it is great, very rarely do you see another red Cayenne around here.
I need to get my hands on a go pro, I've taken this thing on some great roads and I am absolutely floored by the way it handles. The noise this thing makes is just over the top. I have a 2012 TTS also, but that has none of the chassis controls (PDCC, etc), this feels like a totally different vehicle. When it comes to handling, the GTS takes it by a storm, while the TTS does have the torque, it cant come close to feeling as good as the GTS does in my opinion.
Kechang, I cannot put her in the trunk as she leans over the back seats and ends up there anyway, so I rather just find a protector that works, have ordered this one , lets see how it works. Cute dog, I love the ears on Corgis..

Too stiff. Interesting. The 2016 drives better than my previous 2014 ML 550 with air suspension. I would have thought th GTS would be trying to mimic the turbo. Just a cheaper price. But then again it is suppose to be a little more of a track version vs the regular Cayenne right?

I've spent a day with one that belongs to another family member, but wasn't able to get a real feel for it. Its going to be interesting having 2 GTS's in the household.
Having owned an AMG ML (2011), let me be the first to tell you that the 2011 was absolute garbage. Sure the engine was fine, but that was it, everything else about it was way behind every other vehicle in the category. It was replaced by an X5M, great vehicle, loved it while I had it. But it never grew on me for some reason, I was not a fan of the suspension setup (Adjustable dampers but no ride height adjustment), but other than that standard BMW build quality and experience (Read:Great).
From my understanding, the GTS is meant to be the "most pure" drive experience you can have in the Cayenne (This is based of their 'Enthusiast Driven' ads). The GTS has a lower suspension setup compared to the other models, and a wider track (If I am correct). Mine is equipped with PDCC + PTV, and I genuinely cannot wait till I get this thing on the track, talk about being whipped around corners with close to no body roll.
We have a 958 Turbo without those options, and they do make a noticeable difference after you've experienced them, but saying that, I do prefer the Turbo to the GTS when it comes to choosing which vehicle to drive when I am visiting an other Emirate. I just find the Turbo's ride more forgiving and comfortable when it comes to long road trips. I've already put on a little over 5K Kms on the GTS since I've gotten it, and do think this is the best drivers SUV (At the price range it was offered at) you can get. I have yet to experience the new AMG GLE or the RR Sport SVR, but those fall under vehicles that compete with the Turbo/Turbo S rather than the GTS.
