Quick review of the icarscan

In the video, you can see that the oil change resets to the correct 365 days / 10,000 miles.
I did the 2nd year maintenance and the intermediate reset also resets correctly to 730 days / 20,000 miles.
Are you able to update your Creader 7S? Launch periodically releases new updates for the icarscan, idiag and their other more expensive scan tools.

I was able to update the 7S for Porsche but that only works for the diagnostics and there is no oil change reset in that menu option. The oil reset is done using a non Porsche specific menu option as it seems.
I have contacted two dealers and both mentioned that oil only needs to be changed at intermediate and full maintenance interval (20,000 miles or 2 years, whatever comes first). I am not sure if I am going to stick to this oil change interval as it clearly differs from the US standard.
Keeping the Porsche manual in mind, is the below maintenance (not oil) interval change correct?
40,000: full
60,000: intermediate
80,000: full
If so, when you reset the intermediate indicator at e.g. 40,000 miles, should it reset and countdown from 40,000 miles / 4 years? And this similar for full maintenance? If both would be 20,000 miles / 2 years, they would be exactly running sync right?
I hope I made myself clear.

I ordered iCarScan from obd2tool.com April 11,I like this tool a lot. The 2018 new version has 10 free brand of software to select. You can free to download any 10 software. For the Cayenne, it seems to do all the stuff I ever used Durametric for, and it's way more convenient. For my wife's 2013 Mercedes GL it's incredible - - loads of information and otherwise dealer-only settings are made available. That's a big deal as the cheap (ELM 327) OBD scanners can't reset even basic codes on the Mercedes (which seems to throw a ghost code at least once a year). Now that the Benz is out of warranty its nice to know I have the ability troubleshoot/repair without taking it to the dealer.
Looking at it, it's actually 5 car brands and 5 resets. It looks like they added more system resets and allow you to choose which ones. The original icarscan only allowed you to pick 5 car brands and couldn't choose the reset tools.
Glad it's working out for you!

The original iCarScan had 5 vehicle manufacturers and 3 reset tools.. for a total of 8 functions. I haven't needed any of the reset tools with the Porsche - the EZDiag program with the iCarScan does it all.

Hey Don!
Have you used up all 5 yet? I'm about to use my last one tomorrow for Honda.
I'll posted another video soon. Stay tuned.

I did - I forget all of the ones I picked. I know I got Porsche (my car), Toyota-Lexus (wife's car) and BMW (friend's car..) I'd have to look to see what else I picked.

however now after the latest update I've noticed that some new functions poped around when I check specific systems in the car; like reseting the transfer case Oil counter! which didnt exist before. is this the new "Resets" you mentioned or there is something else?

I've purchased the Icarscan dongle like a year ago and got it with their original 5 free brands and 3 functions offer.

It's something else. Those new functions are probably added when they update the car manufacturer software. You get 1 full year of free updates but after that, you need to pay. Launch updates their car manufacturer software about 4 or 5 times a year.
But those included resets like the "oil reset" are generic resets that will try to work with all vehicles.
