Hi everyone,

I have a 2012 Cayenne S Hybrid with less than 12,000 miles on it. However when I drive the vehicle hard for about 15min, a warning sign in yellow shows up on the dash "Fault Hybrid System". The car continues to run without the battery assist and the fault disappears after a cooling down period, mostly after restarting the vehicle after some minutes.

Anyone experience this? what is the resolution?

Dealing with this right now on my '11 Cayenne S Hybrid. I get the yellow Fuel Cap warning as well. When the red Hybrid Fault warning goes off, I am restricted to 2nd gear, 2000 rpms until putting her in park and shutting engine off. Then she restarts fine - no warning light - and away she goes. Weird, Ghost in the Machine type ****...
So far the Hybrid Fault isn't showing up in the code registry upon service check...

 

Sent my cayenne to the dealership, which is about 500km away

Luckily they were able to reset the codes. No problems so far. Pushing the vehicle hard and hybrid system seems to operate well, even during hot climate (35C celsius). Have activated extended warranty now

Best solution is to take it to the dealer. Take some pictures of the fault.
