Production Delays to 2019 Cayenne e-Hybrid

I wanted to share some frustrating information re severe delays to production of the 2019 Cayenne e-Hybrid...

Porsche (along with several other manufacturers) have been investing a lot of effort in trying to meet the recently introduced WLTP standards in Europe. As such, new orders were not being taken since the latter part of last year (2018) and are still currently suspended. NB: Porsche can not sell this model to customers until they start producing it again.

The estimate for the car going back into production and thus customers able to order it was early 2019, i.e. about now, However, I have recently learned the current outlook is now September 2019! The explanation for this given by my local PC is not only WLTP delays, but also drivetrain issues. He didn't expand on this, and I don't know whether the planned changes to accommodate WLTP are directly linked to the drivetrain issues he alludes to, e.g. if Porsche are looking to switch to bigger battery packs to increase the range for WLTP purposes, will this put the drivetrain under more stress? NB: This is purely a speculative example from myself and not based on any 'insider' knowledge.

Has anyone else heard of the same production delays? Does anyone what might be causing the drivetrain issue(s) and why it's taking so long to rectify?

There are many 2019 Cayenne at the dealers around me in the SF bay area. Porsche dealers are very eager to work with customers. They are competing hard for Tesla. I like the 2019 Porsche Cayenne, it's really a clean design and drive is much better than 2014 Cayenne in my opinion.
