2011 Cayenne S Battery Specs

Hey guys,

It's been a long long time. I hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected during this very trying time. I think I need a new battery but I just ordered this tester to be 100 percent sure.

Amazon Amazon

I was getting all kinds of weird codes with dollar $igns in them (ALWAYS a good thing)

ECU1 ($FD20)
ECU2 ($FD00)

PCM failure messages and auto start turned off messages as well as an Intermediate Service Warning also the AC didn't quite blow as hard as it used to at fall speed.

I purchased a NOCO Genius G3500

Amazon Amazon

and tried several cycles of charging the battery this afternoon and after a few hours on the charger when it started up all was well.

In any case being that my Cayenne is S 2011 I was told that I had to purchase a PORSCHE branded battery because it had to be programmed to the car. I want to run that battery tester but it is going to ask my for the OEM specs on the 2011 Cayenne S battery and I just can't seem to find them. Any help is much appreciated. Stay safe everyone.

TJ,

Ive heard from multiple sources that the new battery "Must" Be programmed to the car but from my experience, This is nonsense and feels like a way to promote "Dealer only" servicing of the battery.

When i replaced my battery on my 2012 CS i bought this from Advanced auto (Size H8, 900 CCA AGM battery) for about $170 after discounts and worked great.
I had to clear a number of electrical related error codes which took 10 minutes using my ICARSOFT PORII but overall its not terribly difficult to replace and as long as you have the triple square tool, its not bad at all.

CAVU on rennlist posted this guide here which i followed: https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...nt-access.html

Good luck,

Thank you man! Yes I am going to go that route. I assume this battery will work as well in my 2011 Cayenne S. I can clear codes myself I assume as well using my

iCarsoft POR-II Porsche OBD-II Scanner Tool

correct?

Thank you for that input. I still cannot find the info on my OEM battery.

Hi TJ,

It works in my 2012 CS so it will be perfect for you too. and yes that's the scanner i use and clear all the codes on.

The other option you have also if you dont want to be clearing codes is to hook up a second battery on the jump terminals to keep the electrics alive during the change.\

Good luck dude.
