Tyre replacement on staggered set up

Just purchased a 2008 CTTs and the previous owner is running a staggered set up Front:275/40/20 Rear:315/35/20. The current tyres Goodyear Wrangler F1 need replacement and I would appreciate some suggestions from the members here.

-The 1st and expensive choice: P-Zeros at 1250 Euros
-Continental Contisport SUV: at around the same price
-And a guy at a local store suggested Atturos AZ850 which are at around 630 Euros.

What do you guys think? Any other suggestions??

Thanks in advance

I saw the Arturo tire as well and they are indeed a tiawanese made tire, a division of Federal. I would look into the Nokian line or Vredestien.

I run the Toyo's Proxes in the staggered size...they are an all-season, but they run smooth and are not too noisy, made in USA. I think I paid around 800 USD.

Thanks for the info mate. I considered all-season but in Greece with almost 5 months of summer and no snow i am going for summer all the way. I'll take a look at Toyo's

I would suggest going back to a non staggered set up - the truck will handle better

Aside from Michelin and NItto, I like the performance and traction of Conti's.

Traction-wise, the truck does not NEED a staggered setup with 315 in the rear. With the AWD and weight, it is more than capable of hooking up on the stock tire sizes. Not sure why people do this with around stock HP. It is just added weight and more expensive tire cost. Perhaps solely for the look?

Probably you are right. However, I found the car with this setup, I'd love to go back to the stock setup, however the car has a set of Techart Formula I which I believe are wider at the back.

So, stock setup is foregone!!

The stock set up on my 06 CTTS has 20 inch wheels with 9 inches wide in the front and 10 inches wide in the read. Both front and rear are specked with 275/40R20 tires.

Sorry for reviving such an old post. Thought it be cool to share my experience with Atturo's AZ850.

I couldn't decide for almost a month about tyres, my concern was that although I knew the wise choice is to go with Pirelli's or Conti's or other well known brand I couldn't justify the double price over the Atturo's since I saw the tyre and 3-4 tyre dealers told me that they are very good.

-Pros: I have already put 6500km on the odo with the tyres and I can only say that they have a very low noise. Almost like the conti's I had on the X6 with also staggered setup. They reach temperature very easy and the grip gives me the confidence I was looking. Tyrewear can't tell already but it seems good. In Greece hasn't rained a lot this summer so wet grip and braking can be judged only at storm that caught me at the highway which I needed to brake at the tolls hard and I was surprised by the amount of grip.

-Cons: While installing the new tyres I noticed that the rear wider one's needed more time to balance. I asked him and he told me that sometimes large and wider tyres need more balance. I didn't believe him!!!
He also mentioned that it might need a rebalance after 1000-2000km which indeed happened. I had a little vibration at around 140km/h. Since then tyres are fine.
Regarding treadwear time will tell and how the tyre performs as I put more and more km on them.

I still believe that Pirellis might be better or Michelin, but so far I haven't noticed anything that negative to convince me that paying double the price for 4 tyres will make the car perform twice as good. Just my .02

VChris - thanks for your input. Your story is exactly what we talk about when we say "performance within reach." Atturo offers a quality tire with true performance at an affordable level compared to original equipment and other major brands. We produce a REAL tire that maintains and improves the quality of your vehicle.

We've had a lot of great feedback about our AZ850 and we are working on more sizes. Just wanted to say we appreciate your feedback.
