05 headlite goes off help please

05 headlite goes off help please

ok guys i need some help my wifes 05 cayenne has a headlite prob.... when i remove the complete unite it will work for a day or two and then it goes dark ... this seems to happen with the riders side lite from time to time also.... when i remove it i spray it with elec cleaner that i have used on my maf on the996tt..... any ideas would be great thanks in advance steve

Steve,
I had the same issue when I took my lights out for bulb replacement. I realized I wasn't locking them in all the way. You have to push the headlight in while turning the tool until you hear a distinct "click" almost feels like you are going to break it but it just has to lock in place or it basically jiggles itself loose enough to lose connection

i had a balLast go bad so i was round and round with those lights.
the tips i learned are as follows
a dry main connector does not dig going together, so lube up the rubber a bit.
dont use cleaner on the connections, use deoxit, a cleaner/protectant

if its the main beam thats messing up and you do need a ballast search the number
on ebay, several other cars use the same one, or pay a stealership 450$

BLKP still not working works for a short time then not at present turn sir gone and headlite diped sign comes on thanks for the help steve

am thinking if it's the ballast they would not work at all , yep they the right headlite did the same thing but now works fine lucky we don't get out much at dark

dipped beam, its ballast time.

nope pushed the lever very hard it clicked and all is well .....thasnks for the help guys
