Well, I have it silenced again....
I had put thicker felt in place on both the driver and passenger....that worked...for a day or so...then it came back...
I messed around with it yesterday and found if I removed the thick felt on the passenger side, the noise went away....so thick felt on driver/no felt on passenger = silence
We'll see if this is the ticket...
It's definitely coming from this location...I found I can make it creak with my hand by grabbing the lip of the roof panel and flexing it slightly....that's how I figured out no felt on the passenger side was quiet...I drove it around last night with a quiet roof....we'll see what happens...Thanks again for this feed....it has been very helpful and hopefully my experience will help someone else.
Just got a 2008 PCT and put a couple of those stick on felt pieces that go on the bottom of chairs. Worked like a charm! So thrilled to have the noise gone. Thanks for the tip and pictures.
Strike that: the squeak is back. I tried repositioning the felt stick-on pads on both sides, removing the none-squeaking side (driver’s side) pad, but still no change. Man that noise is annoying! Guess I’ll try different sizes and thicknesses to see if it will go away. Anyone have a different fix that lasts longer?
Ahhh! I am so thrilled.. I've been dealing with a creaky/creaking panoramic roof for a little over a year now.. Just didn't find the time to troubleshoot it until the other day..
I've read many threads saying it's possible the glass panels, dry seals, etc, although I know the sound of a "squeak" as compared to a "creak".. I would get an annoying creaking noise from the drivers side roof whenever the vehicle turned, hit a bump, etc.. Most of the time I didn't hear it because the radio was loud enough, but driving around with the kids (sleeping) amplified it even more..
The noise appear to always come from the front of the vehicle just above the headliner.. If you would pull on the plastic trim that goes across the vehicle you could replicate the noise.. I finally found the "sweet spot" to silence it.. It was on the left (driver's side) where the plastic piece rubbed against the metal.. I pried the plastic piece up just enough to slip a small piece of felt under it.. Once I did that, the noises appear to be silenced!
Posting this for others who experienced the same... You will need to remove the plastic trim piece to get to it easier (pops out rather easily)..
With the trim piece re-installed:

It would be great if the pictures were still showing on this thread, I am dealing with this problem right now and its getting annoying after 6 months like this. If someone could re-post some pics, it would be appreciated!
I found the creaking is coming from above the 'pano' roof control panel area, with the sun shade open, if I reach into the roof glass area near this point, and press downward on the plastic covering the backside area of controls and lights, dead center or up to 3" left or right the noise pretty much stops. How does one remove this panel and is some denim scrap glued into place on one side the best idea?

To all us folks still driving old cars for the soul and personality in 2026, this fix still works. I attached OP's original images, since they no longer show up in his original post.
Thanks, Richie. I would have never found this fix without this forum post.
