2013 Cayenne Diesel
Mine was put on a ship on the 27th, hoping to take delivery mid-September.
@deucequattro I can't suggest against the RRS enough. I had a full size, 2012 that I got rid of for the Pepper Diesel (after only 8 months). While the Rovers look great, the quality is awful!

Porsche Diesel a success??
Guaranteed!! American drivers are getting the idea. Forget the electro / hybrid crap with all the costs and maintenance potential issues down the road and the Diesel is going to be on a short supply for a long time to come. Just look at the Volkswagen Diesels, they are flying off the dealer lots. The Audi's are doing the same with more than 20% of all A3 being TDI's. That is huge. The Touareg will be the Cayenne main competitor when price is an issue. The Q7 when the price is not an issue. Note that here in the US, car leasing is a real driver of the business and many buyers lease their top end cars and flip them after 3-4 year to escape the maintenance bills. I heard Mercedes has 70% lease deals. BMW way less because asian buyers living in the US are always cash buyers and they prefer BMW over Mercedes for instance. Audi still has the stigma of high repair costs and random ( and not so random) failures and I can attest to that. Hence the high percentage of leases. I am thinking that if the car mfgrs keep producing traditional - non-complicated ( no hybrid / battery / electro/ Duracel crap ) - the Diesel cars will fly of the shelfs and will gain substantial market share.
That's really unfortunate that you felt that about your full size. Were almost opposite of what your opinion was/is. We have driven the base, S, hybrid, and the turbo (at a Porsche driving event) and though they were near masterpieces, we felt they were on the smaller end as far as space goes (cargo & personnel). We've tested the q7 and that was too big as we don't have nor will be expecting anytime soon. We tested the RRS s/c and just like the turbo, was a crime for an SUV to go that fast, handle that well, and stop like that. Hahah first world problems..

Dang, I'm still torn man. I test drove the 35d today and yes, that's a whole lot of torque. I'm talking about almost an excess haha. I'm still trying to sift through all the reviews, comments, advices; especially for the RRS's plague of electrical problems.
Has anyone done any towing with the CD? I have a CTT that is modified and gets 12.1 mpg towing a huge travel trailer. I am wondering what real world mpg and towing is like with a CD?
Thanks in advance.
BTW, I love the air suspension and don't think I can live without it. For hitching up a backup camera is essential.

My BLK/BLK was delivered to the house the other day, and after 100 miles I am very happy with it, a very nimble cruiser, the the windows up you will never know you are driving a diesel, only thing is the transmission tend to want up upshift to save gas..diesel, but i guess that is what the sports mode button do, what do you guys think so far of your diesel?
i believe im going to make a cayenne diesel my first porsche purchase. I wanted the new allroad, the upcoming f31 bmw wagon, or some type of SUV and as soon as i saw the cayenne turbo i wanted it.
does anyone have any information on any porsche tuners developing chips for these cars?'
i bet a $1000 ecu flash could add 50-75hp + tq as they do on other diesel engines.
APR tuned the 2.0TDI here ($600): http://www.goapr.com/products/ecu_up...tdi_140hp.html
Revo tuned Audi 3.0TDI - +44 bhp gain +28 lbft torque gain : http://www.revotechnik.com/index.php?mod=audi

Hi guys, I have a 2010 Touareg TDI which I have been very happy about... coming from a 2004 Cayenne Turbo. I love the gas mileage and only slightly miss the power from the CTT. I did a dyno using the Unitronic tuning just to give you a estimate of what to expect on a tuned 3.0TDI.

i wonder if this will work for cayenne diesel.

They have a tune specifically for the Cayenne - http://www.mtm-online.de/en/Porsche/...Cayenne2TDI180
I'm not sure of any tuners in the US offering it though, or if it would work w/ the US spec Diesel.
