No maintenance plan offer by CD, only for a gasoline engine
My salesman in Paul Miller Porsche of New Jersey informed me that a maintenance plan for CD is not offered only for a gasoline engine.
Paul Miller is wrong- I purchased it and got an email/pdf right from Porsche NA. Apparently they would rather charge you $500/oil change than do the service plan. I was told though that you could only get it before the first oil change. However, with the misinformation of your dealer, you may have some leverage. That is if you do want the pre-paid plan.
Great info! Glad I found this site.
I love, love, love my CD. Put 2K on it the first week and now I am approaching the 5K mark and I am dreading the oil change. Not sure how much it will cost in S FL, but my question is, do I NEED to "top off" the AdBlue at time of oil change? Dealer mention this at inception. Seems like a money maker for the dealership.
Also, this is my daily driver. I am getting over 30MPG average with mixed city/hwy driving. I will be putting 12K-15K on each year. It is too fun not to drive all the time! Anyone out there advise for or against the prepaid maintenance plan? It looks pretty basic... But if an oil change is running $300, x 4 or 5 years, it could be worth it?
Advice please! It's my first Porsche and I am enjoying the heck out of it.

So I just had my 2nd service (10k miles - I'll also be putting 12 - 15k a year) and on top of the Oil / AdBlue, etc.. they also had to change the Fuel Filter - total cost for everything was $350. The 1st service (5k) with Oil / AdBlue, etc.. was around $250.
I was told that Porsche originally said the 1st service was due at 5K, then it would go to 10K services (like the gasoline engines), although they've decided to keep it at 5K services (not sure why). Personally, I'm OK with this as I've always had the oil changed at 5k (just think 10k is too long to wait, although I know some of you feel that it's OK). And the price, is pretty much the same that I've paid for previous Porsches, so I don't see it being any "extra" in maintenance.

I have a 13 Touareg TDI for my DD work vehicle - I drive 36k per year typical - absolutely love it - one of my favorite cars of all time, and I have 21,000 miles on it in just 7 months.
My wife has 11 X5 4.4 TT M Sport adaptive drive, a great fun car, but she prefers Touareg - easier to drive.
Yesterday drove 13 Cayenne diesel (thinking of trading the X5) - great car, preferred interior by miles and handling was also better (by a good amount). However, I too noticed the buzzy vibration at times (under acceleration I believe, and at lower speeds) - I can tell you, the Touareg does not have this buzziness - what on earth is it?

sarends- thats the one thing i don't like about my cd. I love everything else about the car and find that i am used to the buzzing now and rarely notice it anymore. My service tech said it was caused by the transfer case. For some reason the cd uses a transfer case that is different than the one on the other cayennes that doesn't buzz.
