Tires?

Ran over some nails with two of my tires recently and they cannot be repaired. Would it be ok to just buy two tires first, or would i have to replace all 4 at the same time? Thanks in advance...

They're still about 40%, which would be a waste considering that they $400 tires each.

I have always had my car serviced at the dealer, and I have often just changed either the front set of tires or the rear set. I think you would be okay aslong as you change the pair. I have never had any problem with it. Of course I would make sure to get the same set of matching tires. I know last year my rear tires needed to be changed in order to pass inspection, and my service advisor said I would be fine just changing the rear tires because there was plenty of tread left on the fron tires. I am sure that if it was really necessary to change all four wheels they would have tried to convince me to do it...

Tough Question .

This is my first Cayenne and unlike the 911 cars all 4 of my tires wore out at the same time. I replaced all 4.

To help you find your answer I am going to ask a question on top of yours .

If he replaces two tires would his vehicle always have a perpetual uneven tread and would it even matter ?

I had the my front driver tire blow out on my CTT and simply replaced both front tires. If the good tires have decent tread, you should be fine just replacing the bad tires but they should be on the same axle. the rule I've heard is you should be swapping out either both front, both rear or all four. hope this helps.

I think changing a pair is a good rule of thumb. But from my readings is that make sure you put the good tires on the front. Same make would be recomemended.

Of course, if the front and back are differ sizes then got to keep then where they are.
